I have been delivering bushcraft and nature based sessions to groups and individuals for 15 years. Those groups and individuals vary from special needs groups and individuals to bushcraft enthusiasts young and old. Over the years I have seen the magic of the woods and the delight of learning bushcraft skills embolden and make happy anxious, bored and sometimes unhappy children and teenagers. I've
also seen the sparkle in the eye of many an adult as they successfully light their tinder bundle! I believe bushcraft is for everybody, you don't have to be a rough and tumble outsidey person to find joy and peace around the campfire whilst whittling or weaving a basket from foraged fibres. I work with all ages and abilities, in schools, for charities, at events and for families and their children. I offer flexible sessions at weekends and after school for one to one sessions with children and teenagers. They can be from 1 hour through to a day, as a one-off booking or in blocks of 4 or 6 sessions. Family sessions are great, the children love seeing their parents and carers getting involved, the sessions can create wonderful memories. I am very led by my customer, sessions can be playful, creative, skill focussed or physically active. Some of the best times are when my plan is completely abandoned and we find something else entirely that takes our fancy; we might find some tracks we want to follow, or a river that needs exploring or a challenge that suits the mood. With 15+ years of experience of facilitating sessions I think I am able to be adaptable and flexible and have a great bank of knowledge of bushcraft activities to suit all ages and abilities. They are beautiful, wild and unmanaged. It means we can do wild camping, awsome shelter building and some great bushcraft projects.
