It's been such a wonderful weekend and I'm so proud of myself Kayleigh Crawford Digital Marketing and Maroma Castings for managing to pull this event off! Visit me this weekend in my studio space!
As part of the first city wide Open Studios event for Dunfermline (organised by myself and 2 other creatives!), my studio will be open all weekend!
Come along and meet me, see what I'm working on and shop my products. In my building you'll also find leather work, illustration and graphic design from Daein' Leather, Alexis Bowden, Henrietta Kurlbaum and Eilean Design.

Little recap on my May this year. Photo credit mostly goes to as I actually put my phone away for a lot of this month! 🫢
May was a bit of a whirlwind. I've been working with two creative pals to plan and we went on holiday right in the middle to Mallorca. A proper good amount of quality family time was had in the sun with lots of sand, sea and pina colada's.

June is kicking off with Open Studios launching on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th. Please come and visit all of the wonderful artists opening their doors across Dunfermline and prove to us this was a good idea! 😂

There are a couple of spaces left on my next workshop! Come along for a relaxing afternoon, learn hand embroidery techniques and work on a project you can take home with you.
All materials are included as well as a project bag you can keep everything in. The class is in my studio in Dunfermline, right in the city centre. Tea, coffee and cake included!

Rebecca from today on the takeover!

As well as being one of the organisers for our wonderful event, I will be taking part too! On Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June, you can visit me in my studio space as well as over 30 other artists in other venues around our city.

Let me introduce myself a bit so you get an idea of what you can see when you visit my studio. I'm Rebecca. I'm a self-taught embroidery artist (in a previous life I was a jeweller) from Edinburgh originally, but have lived here for the last 4 years.

My brand Blackbird & Bloom Embroidery is focussed on sharing my love for modern hand embroidery through DIY kits, patterns, accessories and workshops.

Lets jump on this bandwagon and look back to 10 years ago. If you had told me then that 10 years on I would be living in Fife with my family and running my own hand embroidery business I wouldn't have believed you, but sometimes the best things are the ones we don't expect ❤️
