Half way through a run of shows designing and operating sound for Carnoustie High School’s production of ‘Shrek Jr’ this week.

With almost 100 pupils involved on and off stage, 23 radio mics are in use to cover Shrek, Donkey, Fiona and all the characters in this busy show. The cast, crew and production team have done an incredible job all week and the remaining tickets are on sale for the last three performances today and tomorrow.

Angus Centre For Performing Arts
J U N I O R S H O W C A S E ‘25

Continuing partnership with ACPA, providing audio and video support the last couple of weekends for their annual Junior Showcase at the ANGUSalive Webster Memorial Theatre & Venues in Arbroath.

Always great to work with ACPA, their students and teachers, seeing their development into incredible singers and dancers, some of who go on to progress into professional studies and jobs within the performing arts industry.

It takes a wide range of people to put a production together. From those working to make sure everyone and everything on stage is safe to those who make sure the audience and performers see and hear everything they need to see and hear, but it all starts way before then. The days, weeks and months prior coordinating between venues, performers and technical teams ensuring they all have everything they need to make the performance memorable for every audience member and Gleadhraich’s 15 year anniversary show at the Gardyne Theatre was no different.

After providing sound at the spectators camping village for one night when The Open made its way to Carnoustie in 2018, AOK Events were asked to provide sound, lighting and staging for seven nights of entertainment for the camping village when it returned to Scotland and St Andrews in 2022 for the 150th round.

There were various musicians and special guests who made their way to the tent during the week as well as some very special events. Highlights included a DJ set from BBC Radio 2’s DJ Spoony, exclusive interviews with some professional golfers sponsored by FootJoy and an intimate inaugural evening of ‘Dough & Co’ with Sky Sports Golf Nick Dougherty and Andrew Coltart.

For the week, AOK spec’d a system comprising of:

Meyer Sound X40’s, 750’s & MJF-210’s
Pioneer CDJ’s and DJM
Shure & EMO microphones, wireless microphones & DI boxes
LED lighting & steeldeck.
