Just recalled this chat from a few weeks back:

“So, your play is a ‘Talking Heads’ kinda thing?”
“No, it’s a monologue.”
“Yeah, but like ‘Talking Heads?’
“Alan Bennett didn’t invent monologues.”
“Right.”
“If only the Ancient Greeks had done TikTok …”
*nervous laugh*

Final version completed and it’s now a 40 minute, one act play.
Written for two female actors to complement both 'Darkness Visible' and 'Hallowtide.'

Now available to perform ... ‘Lily.’

"Lily has been sentenced to a secure institution. A facility for convicted criminals for whom there is no prospect of ever being released. A place reserved for those who have committed the most heinous of crimes. And now, Samantha has received permission to visit Lily to conduct an interview. She is hoping to discover something. Not what Lily did or why, but to get beneath the skin of a killer. Is there more to her crimes? Is Lily ‘just’ a killer? Or is there something worse? Do crimes end at the conclusion of a trial? Or are Lily’s crimes the start of something bigger? Much bigger. Perhaps, eternal. For she has a secret. But then, so does Samantha."

“Well Blodwyn, I know it’s only August, but what do you think to the Christmas decs this year?”
“Well Dai, I say let’s push the boat out. See that old rubbish bin? Put a bit of old tinsel on it and throw it in the holly tree out front.”
“There’s lovely.”
😆

I know. Highly reminiscent of ‘Under Milk Wood.’
