Bit of an end of summer update:

These photos are a little snapshot of the creativity, colour and joy that happens in my classes, and they’re also a reminder of why I love teaching art so much.

I’ve made the difficult decision to bring my children’s art club to an end at the end of September. I’ve realised I’ve been trying to do too much, and in doing so, I’ve been wearing myself out. As much as I’ll be sad to say goodbye to the young artists who have come along so regularly, I know it’s the right decision for me and for my own art practice.

I’m now putting my energy into my adult art classes, which I’m really excited about. I’ll be running a regular Saturday class approximately once a month from October, with lots of different creative projects to explore.

I’m back from holiday feeling refreshed, inspired and with more clarity about where I want to take things next ✨

From soaking up the art and architecture in Paris with my mum, to spending time with family at Centre Parcs (and squeezing in a little painting!), the time away was exactly what I needed.

Now I’m back and ready to get started 🫶

My first Saturday morning art class begins on 12th September at Artists’ Dover, and I’m hoping it could be the start of a lovely new creative community.

We broke the rules and made something together 🎨

Over time, my classes have become more than just a place to come and paint, we’ve become a little community of people who enjoy creating together, chatting, experimenting and encouraging each other.

So this time, we decided created an art piece together.

Everyone added their own ideas, marks, colours and style… and somehow, it all came together beautifully 🤍

And just look at what they made! ✨

I started an art class… and I didn’t expect THIS to happen 🥹🎨

What started as a few people coming together on a Friday afternoon to make art has grown into something I’m really proud of, a little creative community in Dover.

Dawn who runs the Dover smART Project invited us to display work from our classes in their summer exhibition.

Seeing work made by people who come to my classes hanging alongside other local artists was a proud moment for all of us.
But more than that, the private view made me realise that I’m becoming part of a really lovely creative community here in Dover, meeting artists, creatives and people who simply love making things.

And honestly… that’s the bit I didn’t expect ❤️

So if you’ve been thinking about coming along to one of my classes, maybe this is your sign. 👀

A little look at what I’ve been up to over the last couple of weeks… ☀️🎨

✨ Kids Art Club
We’ve been creating our colourful Dream Streets, and it’s been amazing to see everyone’s ideas come to life. There are still a few spaces available for next week’s session if you’d like to join us!

🎨 Weekly Adult Art Class
We made some funky decoupage painted canvases!

🌊 Summer Moments
I’ve been making the most of the holidays with trips to the seafront, days out with my niece and nephews, family barbecues, getting out into nature, and continuing my 100 day painting challenge.

You may or may not know that as well as running my workshops I am also a practicing artist. For the past year I have been painting more than ever, and I’m absolutely loving it!

I currently have 2 paintings displayed at which are for sale along with some other brilliant local artists. They will be on display in the window until the 31st August!
