That’s what I love about drawing pets.
It’s not just about making a picture that looks like them.
It’s about capturing the little details that make them, them. 🖤✏️

This bulldog was definitely one of those portraits where the tiny details made all the difference.

This is completely hand-drawn in graphite.

Every detail — the tiny feathers, eyelashes, wood texture, shadows — is drawn by hand.

This is why I love graphite portraits.

From a photograph… to something you can keep forever. 🖤✏️

This is one of my favourite parts of creating a portrait — watching a photograph slowly become a piece of artwork.

Every little detail is drawn by hand, from the tiny fingers and eyelashes to the folds in the clothing.
But for me, it’s not just about making it look realistic.
It’s about capturing a moment that means something.
A moment you can look back on years from now and still remember exactly how it felt. ❤️

One of my favourite things about drawing pets is capturing those little expressions and personalities that make them completely unique.

Because let’s be honest… sometimes you can tell exactly who’s in charge just by looking at them! 😂✏️

“If you could freeze one moment with your pet forever… what would it be?” 🖤🐾

The look they gave you when they knew they’d been caught doing something naughty…

The way they curled up beside you after a long day…

That silly expression that was so completely them…

Or simply the way they looked at you. ❤️

Those little moments can seem ordinary at the time, but one day they can become the memories you treasure most.

That’s one of the reasons I love creating realistic pencil portraits of pets.

I’m not just drawing what they looked like.

I’m trying to capture who they were — their personality, their little quirks, and that feeling you had when they were beside you. ✏️🐾

Some pets leave paw prints on your heart that never really disappear. 🖤🐾

This is one of my favourite things about creating pet portraits.

A photograph captures a moment in time.

A hand-drawn portrait takes that moment and turns it into something you can keep forever. ✏️

I love getting lost in the little details — the texture of their fur, the expression in their eyes, their favourite little quirks — because those details are what make them, them.

And sometimes it’s not just about having a beautiful picture of a pet…

It’s about having something to look at years from now and remembering exactly how they made you feel. 🖤

One of my favourite things about drawing animals is trying to capture more than just their features.

The eyes, the expression, the position of the ears… those tiny details can completely change the feeling of a portrait.

I don’t just draw cats and dogs… 👀🦎

This one was a particularly special drawing for me because I got to draw a subject that doesn’t always get the portrait treatment — a gorgeous bearded dragon!

I absolutely LOVE drawing all the tiny details that make animals unique — scales, eyes, fur, whiskers, feathers… give me all the difficult details! 😂✏️
