Some late night fettling is in order having decanted these from the slip cast moulds as I have a busy few weeks ahead and orders are coming in all of a sudden from all angles - which I really appreciate and don’t want to let any of you down on! Sometimes you wonder why you enjoy such a challenging hobby - slip cast this vase on Saturday and decanted last night as it looked ready for release and sure enough it was but it then proceeded to collapse in on itself - too soon clearly to come away from the mould and be able to hold its own weight! Will go again on Thursday as I have so much to complete before the end of the month ready for a month of fairs!

I wanted to share this project that a dear friend of mine has recently completed for a young lad who is heavily into his reenactment and living history. This depiction of a French Second World War soldier is made from multi media but has mostly been sculpted with plaster. Trefor has been a wealth of knowledge for me to learn from especially in relation to mould making and we have a few projects that we want to make reality in 2027 and I’m looking forward to working with him on them. Keep watching to see how that unfolds… 😀
