Happy Father's Day to everyone's Dad!

It seems Father's Day has confused our elf who thinks we must mean Father Christmas. He's made a small 'correction'. Anything to be helpful!

Buddy the Elf is thrilled when he finally meets his real Dad, Walter Hobbs, in our next show. He wants to be 'Just Like Him'. Things don't exactly go to plan...

❤️❤️❤️ DOS Unsung Heroes Post! ❤️❤️❤️

Here's the fabulous Samantha looking very radiant!

You will probably recognise Sam because she's regularly on stage as our panto baddie or taking a principal role in our annual musical.

What you may not know is that, as well as being our Society's Vice Chair, she is our Wardrobe Manager. That means that every costume for every show is approved, sourced or designed and made by Sam. It's a mammoth task making sure that everyone on stage looks the part and has all the costumes they need.

Did you see the amazing costumes our students wore in the Spongebob Musical??? All designed by Sam. She's a costume genius! She also sorts out costume malfunctions and can often be found back stage with her sewing kit doing running repairs.

We're sure you'll agree that our productions are always visually perfect and Sam's attention to detail is second to none. We can't wait to show you what she's creating for Elf The Musical! It's fantastic! Get your tickets to see this brilliant show and marvel at Sam's costume creations!

Happy Friday! So nice to finally see some sunshine 🌞

Our Christmas elves have found out about the sunflower competition we had last year in the run up to Calendar Girls and they wanted to try it too.

Here they are with their plant. They are very proud of it - it's already taller than they are. No doubt they will be decorating it with tinsel so it's all 'Sparklejollytwinklejingley'

Break a leg to our friends at Dearne Playhouse Musical Theatre Company opening tonight with the iconic Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!

Special love to the show's director and musical director Ashley Booker-Wright, Director and Jonathan Wilby who are teaming up again for our own production of Elf The Musical

Have a great run guys, lots of Dossers will be there to support you all!

Final dress run complete - we can’t wait to open tomorrow evening🌈❤️

❤️❤️❤️ DOS Unsung Heroes Post ❤️❤️❤️

This is the very lovely Catherine who is our Front of House manager. She's there at every performance, among the first to arrive and the last to leave. She organises helpers to sell programmes and raffle tickets, scan show tickets and run our tuck shop. She deals with queries from our audience and liaises with our technical crew and theatre staff to ensure a smooth production. She had to evacuate the theatre during our last show due to a (false) fire alarm! It's a stressful role and she is excellent at it! Say hello when you see her at The Lyric at Elf The Musical in October!

On top of all this, she is our Student Academy choreographer. She devises clever and visually interesting choreography and patiently teaches it to our students who always perform it brilliantly on show week! She also organises lots of events to publicise our Student productions and sell lots of tickets.

We are very grateful for all the hours she gives to DOS and want to take this opportunity to send some love her way! Oh, and today is her birthday! Have a brilliant day, Cat, you totally deserve it! ❤️🤩
