Busayo's Graduation, Through my Lens
Every graduation has it’s own story, but this stands out like a bright page in a book you don’t want to close. When we conceptualized this shoot, placing .idowu_ alone in the center of an empty cinema was to visualize a specific psychological reality.
Apparently, most people come to university to find themselves, but he came to rebuild himself. He once lived a life many would call stable & comfortable. By every measure, he was ahead, yet beneath all of that, there was a quiet restlessness, a whisper telling him there was more to learn, more to become.
So he traded the safety of being a local champion for the anonymity of a student in the UK, he left everything familiar to pursue his Master’s in Drug Development at the University of Bradford.
The reality hit hard, especially that biting cold & the kind of isolation that either breaks you or sharpens you. But in that darkness, he found a spark again.
The empty seats around him don’t represent loneliness anymore. They represent the noise he had to silence to get here, the distractions he voluntarily cut out to sharpen his mind.
The degree is in his hand, but the vision is locked forward. The man in this frame, .idowu_ just finished writing the script.
