We're an all-male Welsh Shanty Band based in Cwmbran, South Wales keeping the heritage of harmonious singing and of the sea through shanty songs with a spattering of folk sounds.

Bois y Bryn will be following their fabulous successful festival in Newport with another night amongst our friends and followers at the Parkway Hotel on Wednesday the 17th of June at 7pm. Come along and enjoy a night of toe tapping shanties and songs of the sea all for FREE.

What a fabulous Saturday at the pirates in the port !!!thank you to all our venues bands and audiences for making it so memorable.
Here are some of the photos taken today of some of the wonderful and amazing bands we had the pleasure of seeing and listening to ( many more to follow. Looking forward to seeing you all again tomorrow starting at 12pm and working towards a big sing at the Corn Exchange at 5pm 🎶🎵🍻❤️

PIRATES IN THE PORT

IS NEWPORT READY FOR A PIRATE INVASION!!
Don't miss this weekend of fabulous toe tapping shanties and songs of the sea! performed in 18 different venues by 52 superb bands . Each venue has a different band every hour from 12pm till 10pm on Saturday and 12pm till 5pm on Sunday .
Feel free to dress up the family as pirates or just come in your civvies. The weekend of fun starts at 11am at the Corn Exchange with the Hosting band from Cwmbran BOIS Y BRYN. Check out PIRATES IN THE PORT for all the information you may need. All this and it's completely FREE.

Just 6 days to go !! Another year gone so quickly .
Even though we have been promised wonderful sunny warm weather all of our venues are indoors. We'd love to see you joining us on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st of May dressed up in your pirate costumes, the best costumes will be heading our brochures and advertising for next year . This year the festival is much bigger with nearly 20 more bands. There's no charge at any of our venues!! It's FREE to all !! so dress yourselves and your family up in your pirate costumes even if it's only an hat or an eye patch . All these bands from all over the country will be appearing free of charge !! so let's show them a wonderful Newport and Welsh welcome .

Bois Y Bryn set sail tomorrow to sing for welshnat_opera_cencym at Swansea Grand Theatre before the wonderful Shipwrecked performance. We will be in the foyer singing at 1pm and 2pm so come along and enjoy the toe tapping shanties 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🎶🏴‍☠️👍
