# Pip’s Perfect Party Adventure

One sunny morning, Pip the Polar Bear bounced through the doors of Pop It Play with a huge smile on her face.

Her fluffy white fur was brushed, her favourite icy-blue bow was sitting neatly between her ears, and she was ready for a very special day.

It was **Getting to Know You Week**, and Pip had decided that the best way for her new friends to get to know her was to take them on an adventure through all her favourite things.

As Pip tiptoed into the party room, she spotted boxes filled with colourful decorations.

There were blue balloons, purple streamers and bright rainbow ribbons.

Pip’s eyes sparkled.

“Oh, these are all my favourite colours!” she giggled, carefully wrapping a rainbow ribbon around herself like a scarf.

Just then, she heard a tiny sound coming from the corner of the room.

“Hello?” Pip called.

Behind a pile of balloons was a little cuddly polar bear waiting to be made.

Pip picked it up gently.

“I know exactly what you need,” she said.

Pip carried the bear over to the Build-a-Bear table. She carefully filled it with the softest stuffing she could find.

Before closing it up, Pip held a little heart in her paws.

She closed her eyes and made a special wish.

“I wish that every child who visits Pop It Play finds a new friend,” she whispered.

Pip placed the heart inside and gave the little bear a big cuddle.

“It looks just like me!” she laughed.

Build-a-Bear parties were one of Pip’s favourite kinds of birthday party because every child could create a cuddly friend of their very own.

Pip imagined all the bears going home with their new families, joining them for bedtime stories, holidays and exciting adventures.

Suddenly, there was a loud…

**POP!**

Pip jumped into the air.

She followed the sound into the science party room, where colourful bubbles were fizzing inside a tall container.

Blue foam bubbled over the top, purple liquid swirled around in a cup, and bright colours flashed beneath the lights.

Pip clapped her paws with excitement.

“I love science parties!” she cheered. “They are full of colours, noises and surprises!”

Another experiment began to fizz.

Then it crackled.

Then it made a funny whooshing sound.

Pip tried to copy it.

“Whoooooosh!”

She spun around the room, dancing between the colourful experiments until she became so dizzy that she fell onto a soft mat, giggling.

Before Pip could stand up, music began playing from the main party room.

Pip’s ears perked up.

She knew that song.

It was the birthday song!

Pip hurried towards the music, but stopped at the doorway when she saw a group of children waiting inside.

Some were smiling and waving.

One child was hiding shyly behind a grown-up.

Pip gave them a gentle wave from across the room.

She did not rush towards them.

Instead, she began a silly little dance.

She wiggled her paws.

She shook her fluffy tail.

She turned in a circle and nearly tripped over a balloon.

The shy child began to smile.

Pip waved again.

This time, the child waved back.

Soon everyone was dancing together.

Some children gave Pip a high-five, some wanted a cuddle, and others posed beside her for photographs.

Pip loved making appearances at birthday parties.

She loved hearing the laughter, joining in with the dancing and helping someone celebrate their special day.

Most of all, she loved meeting new friends.

After the birthday candles had been blown out, Pip sat beside the little polar bear she had made earlier.

“What a wonderful day,” she said.

She had enjoyed her favourite colours, made a cuddly bear, watched exciting science experiments and danced at a birthday party.

But when Pip looked around at all her new friends, she realised something.

Her favourite part of the whole day was not the balloons.

It was not the colourful science experiments.

It was not even the birthday cake.

Her favourite part was sharing it all with the children at Pop It Play.

Pip lifted the little bear into the air.

“Getting to know each other is the beginning of every great friendship,” she said.

Then she gave everyone one final wave.

“I cannot wait to learn all about you too!”

And with that, Pip skipped back through Pop It Play, leaving a trail of rainbow ribbons, happy laughter and polar bear hugs behind her.

Hello, little explorers! Pip the Polar Bear here 👋

This week is all about making new friends, sharing our favourite things and learning what makes everyone special.

Here are some fun questions to ask your friends:

⭐ What is your favourite colour?
⭐ What food do you love?
⭐ What makes you laugh?
⭐ What is your favourite thing to play?
⭐ If you could be any animal, what would you be?

Why not introduce yourself to someone new when you visit Pop It Play? A friendly smile or a simple “Hello, would you like to play?” could make someone’s whole day. 🥰

Pip would love to get to know you too! Tell us your favourite animal in the comments. 🐻‍❄️🐘🦁🐶

✉️🐻‍❄️ World Letter Writing Day with Pip! 🐻‍❄️✉️

Today is World Letter Writing Day, and Pip is getting out her brightest pens and favourite paper to write a very special letter to all her friends back in the Arctic! ❄️💙

She has so much to tell them about life at Pop It Play — the birthday parties, colourful science experiments, cuddly Build-a-Bear friends and all the wonderful children she has met.

Pip is also going to include some pictures and decorations because she knows her Arctic friends will love seeing what she has been doing! 🌈🖍️

Pip’s tips for writing a lovely letter:

✍️ Start with a friendly greeting, such as “Dear…”
💬 Tell the person what you have been doing and share some exciting news.
❓ Ask them a question so they have something to write back about.
🎨 Add a picture, stickers or colourful decorations.
💌 Finish with a kind message and sign your name.

Have you ever written and posted a letter?

Do you have a pen friend, or is there someone far away you would love to write to?

Pip would love to hear who you would choose and what you would tell them! 🐻‍❄️💌

Love and polar bear hugs,
Pip

🩹 National Childhood Injury Prevention Week 🩹

As parents—and with our medical background—we know that children are naturally curious, adventurous and sometimes surprisingly quick! While we can’t prevent every bump, bruise or tumble, a few simple checks can help reduce the risk of more serious injuries.

✅ Keep medicines, cleaning products and small objects out of reach
✅ Check hot drinks are placed well away from little hands
✅ Cut food into safe, age-appropriate pieces to reduce choking risks
✅ Use stair gates, window locks and secure heavy furniture
✅ Always supervise children around water—even shallow paddling pools
✅ Make sure car seats, helmets and safety straps are fitted correctly

Children need space to explore, play and learn, so injury prevention isn’t about wrapping them in bubble wrap! It’s about creating safer spaces where they can enjoy being children.

At Pop It Play, safety is always important to us, and having a medical background helps us understand how quickly accidents can happen—and how small changes can make a big difference.

What is your best parent safety tip or clever childproofing hack? Share it below to help another family! 💙🐻‍❄️
