now it's a tiny bit colder can we talk about the Autumn term? New course alert for you... 🍂🎨
Daytime Watercolours are back for autumn, starting Tuesday 8th September, designed for complete beginners or those looking to improve their painting confidence.

Over 6 Tuesday sessions (90 mins each) with Amanda Ellis, you'll learn simple washes and layering, creating perspective, how to paint soft skies and how to bring it all together with those beautiful autumn colours.

Tea, coffee, homemade cake and all materials are included, just bring yourself.

Something festive is brewing at Hive Design Studio. We've actually been ready for a few weeks now but it was just way too soon even for us! Behind the scenes we've been planning our biggest Christmas line-up yet. We've got old favourites (don't worry Lulu & wreaths will be back!) a few surprises and some brand new crafts for you to try. An apology from us: We're so sorry we had to cancel our sold-out graffiti workshop on Tuesday due to circumstances beyond our control and we're genuinely gutted about it. We hate cancelling anything, but this one really hurt. We knew it was going to be brilliant, and we knew it messed up parents/grandparents plans and most of all it disappointed kids and we never want to do that!

But here's the silver lining: the workshop IS still happening Tuesday 18th August, 3–5pm, and we've now got 6 spots free.

The mural's sketched, the spray paint's ready, and the wall is blank and waiting. Grab a spot and come help us paint it

Our Chibi-style manga drawing workshop brought in the most boys we've ever had in the studio 🎨 Turns out most weren't even into manga they just love drawing, and this style let them go big: oversized heads, huge expressive eyes, stubby bodies, zero rules. A few even turned it into self-portraits, Wednesday Adams and putting their own spin on the style (swipe to see)

We know we've barely scratched the surface though, Sanderstead, Coulsdon and Purley are full of things we haven't tried yet!

🎾 MDLcoaching tennis especially teens sessions for the ones who've outgrown the playground
And of course they've been with us! Our summer sessions are 2 hours of them making something instead of staring at those walls.

Join us for a one-off collage workshop with collage artist Kirsty McNay next Tuesday 18 August. Over 2 hours, young artists aged 10+ will turn everyday packaging and labels into their own mixed media artwork, no experience needed.
✨ Kids will love: getting creative, eco-friendly upcycled materials, and taking home a piece they made themselves
👏 Parents will love: a screen-free afternoon, small friendly session at our studio, and zero mess at home.
