We’re proud to launch our Contextual Youth Work Research Report, a collaborative study developed by Dr Elaine Williams (University of Greenwich) in partnership with the Reaching Higher team.

The report explores how community context shapes young people’s experiences and calls for more connected, collective approaches to youth work in Croydon.

To mark the launch, we brought practitioners and community members together at Croydon College. Huge thanks to our panel speakers Dr Elaine Williams, Natasha Reynolds, Diana Korczynska, Gavin English, and members of the Reaching Higher team for sharing powerful insights from practice and lived experience.

Shared learning isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s a survival kit for London’s youth sector.

That’s why and came together 🤝: because the challenges young people face run deep, and no single organisation can tackle them alone.

Our first step on this journey was a transformative day of contextual learning with Luke Billingham, who brought sharp insight, grounded practice, and honest conversation into one room.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹?
Youth workers sharing openly, challenging each other, and realising they’re not alone in this work.
We imagined the future young people deserve and felt the energy of knowing we can build it faster together.

𝗜𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹:
Community is our greatest resource. None of us are doing this alone, and we don’t have to.

When grassroots youth organisations learn together, we strengthen the entire ecosystem surrounding young people.
And this is only the beginning.
