THE imagination of local children has been brought to life in the newly launched Mid Devon Monster Book, a unique community project created through Kick Start Art, a free creative initiative run by retired teacher, Linda Williamson and supported by the Crediton Heart Project.

👾📖 First monster author spotted!

Bean Bro creator, Lincoln from Cheriton Bishop, has picked up his copy of the Mid Devon Monster Book – and even bought one for his grandparents!

My favourite part? He’s already signed his book “in case he’s famous one day!” ✍️⭐

Moments like these make all the hard work worthwhile. Thank you to all the amazing children who filled Mid Devon with such wonderful monsters.

🎉 THE MID-DEVON MONSTER BOOK IS HERE! 🎉
After months of imagination, creativity and monster-making by children from schools across Mid Devon, we’re delighted to announce that the Mid Devon Monster Book is now available!
Created through the free Kick Start Art community project, the book is packed with colourful characters, funny facts and monsters hidden in real local locations. It’s a chance for children and families to explore Mid Devon through the eyes of its young creators.
🎥 WATCH THE VIDEO to meet some of the monsters and discover where they might be hiding!
A huge thank you to all the children, families, schools and supporters who helped bring this project to life.
Special thanks to Hetty and Rachel Crediton Coffee Company for joining in the fun and starring in the video alongside Terragon, the mischievous rooftop monster with a taste for stolen cake! Thank you also to Hedgerow Print for helping bring the children’s monster creations to life in print.
We’re incredibly grateful to Karen Gutans Art, The Bookery, Crediton and Crediton Library for helping share the children’s creativity with the wider community by stocking the book.

✨The exhibition continues its journey … ✨

A huge thank you to Crediton Library for hosting the first leg of the exhibition over the past two weeks.

The exhibition has now arrived at QE Lower School, where it will be on display for the next two weeks before travelling on to QE Upper School. We hope the students enjoy celebrating the fantastic creativity, imagination and artistic talent showcased by the winning artists from our first four projects.

🌌🚀 There are now less than two weeks left to enter our current challenge, Cosmic Creations. We’d love to see even more entries added to our growing online gallery.

🎨🌟 Huge congratulations to the children and staff at Hayward's Primary School!

I'm delighted to hear that artwork created by their current Year 6 pupils has been selected for the prestigious Take One Picture exhibition at the National Gallery in London.

With just 35 schools represented nationally, and apparently the only school from the South West, this is an incredible achievement and a wonderful recognition of the creativity, talent and hard work of the children involved.

What an amazing opportunity to have their work displayed at one of the world's most famous art galleries. We are very proud of you all!

🌌🚀 Wow! I’m absolutely blown away by the entries coming in for this term’s Kick Start Art challenge, Cosmic Creations.

What creative children you all have! 🎨✨

I love seeing the thought that goes into each piece of artwork - the imaginative ideas, colour choices, techniques and attention to detail are fantastic.
