Did you know that you have more than five senses?

While most of us know about sight, sound, smell, touch & taste, there are other senses that help us navigate and experience the world around us.

The challenge is that modern life often keeps us disconnected from them.

This is one of the many reasons I am excited about the glamping weekend escape I’ll be hosting next Spring. A true opportunity to escape the noise and distractions of day-to-day life and find more connection. One element of the weekend will be forest bathing.

To give you a taste of this experience I have created a FREE PDF guide:

Gentle movement. Nervous system regulation. Yoga. Breathwork.

I value all of these practices. They can be incredibly powerful for healing, self-awareness, and emotional wellbeing.

But I’ve also been pondering something:

Does our obsession with calm sometimes encouraging women to bypass their anger rather than understand it?

Because despite all the resources dedicated to helping women regulate, reconnect and heal, the women around me are angry. Angry about inequality. Politics. The economy. The mental load. Watching capable women overlooked while mediocre men continue to rise.

And anger doesn’t disappear just because we learn how to breathe through it. It ruminates in our bodies, with very real physical consequences.

Anger can be information. All behaviour is communication after all. A boundary is crossed or an injustice witnessed. An unmet need. But female anger remains one of the least socially acceptable emotions to express. Women can be labelled difficult, dramatic, emotional or “too much” when they show it.

So why are so many wellness spaces for women centred exclusively around calmness, softness and acceptance?

What if some emotions don’t need soothing first? What if they need expressing?

That’s the question behind my latest experiment in the woods: combining elements of a rage room with nature therapy. A space to acknowledge anger, move it through the body, and then transition into reflection and release.

Because maybe emotional wellbeing isn’t about only feeling the softer things. Maybe it’s about creating enough space to feel everything.

Rage in the woods 🥊 🌳

The activity lineup is here… a full nervous system reset. No judgement, just channeling big emotions in a safe way. Three hours of venting & physical release, followed by a gentle and grounding forest bathing session and fire ritual to let go.

The breathing thing probably works too 😆

I did, however read an interesting article about this last week. Essentially it said that women are taught to suppress their emotions through societal norms, and that one of the most beneficial ways to release those emotions and get it out of your body is to be angry.

I think I’m going to do some more research about it and will let you know what I find!
