This weekend, I’m supposed to be taking FramedUp to Northern Ireland.

That sounds simple.

It is not simple.

I have registered things I didn’t know existed.
I have numbers for other numbers.
I have filled in forms so I can fill in different forms.
I have had declarations rejected, resubmitted, processed, rejected again and stared at screens wondering what on earth they actually want from me.

All to take my own stock, in my own van, from one part of the UK to another part of the UK. 😂

The ferry is booked.
The stock is (nearly) ready.
My sanity is hanging by a thread.

Will I even make it to Northern Ireland?

Only time will tell… 😂

This is just one of the problems with being a small business… in order to trade in Northern Ireland, I need to export goods, import goods and be the haulier… all seems excessive but thanks to Brexit, I’ve no other choice!

So imagine my frustration when all paperwork is done and submitted that I then get an error message meaning goods cannot be moved. I’ve spent the best part of 2 hours trawling back through all the pages and pages I’ve had to fill in and I cannot find any errors. It seems to be that a system somewhere is not talking to another so I will be on the phone first thing in the morning.

Those of you that know me, know I like to be organised. With a ferry booked for Friday, and a show booked for Saturday and Sunday, I didn’t want this to end up as a last minute thing!
