ArtbyJoanneSpencer Hi, I’m Joanne Spencer — a linocut printmaker inspired by the quiet beauty of trees, the rhythm
of the sea, and the small sparks of joy we find in nature.

https://www.artbyjoannespencer.com My art is rooted in capturing those
serene, grounding moments that connect us to the natural world. I discovered linocut by happy accident on Pinterest and instantly fell in love. There’s something
magical about carving the

lino, layering the colors, and peeling back the paper to reveal the
finished print. Through my work, I hope to share that sense of calm and wonder — a reminder of
the beauty that grounds us and the peace we can carry into our everyday lives.

Here’s what to do instead: choose work that’s been slowly, intentionally made.

People sometimes feel they need to be able to articulate why they want a particular work before they are allowed to buy it. That is not how it works.

The attraction does not need a defense. You do not have to be able to explain Bayards Cove to someone who asks; you just have to know it belongs in your space.

The explanation, if you want one, tends to arrive later on its own.

Every work that reaches a collector is the result of many decisions, including the decision not to show what came before it.

The finished work is not the whole story. It is the end of a longer, quieter process that most collectors never see.

When you live with Bluebell Woods, you are living with the result of the artistic process and all that comes with it.

This piece came from the Scottish islands—
a quiet bothy, wildflowers, and nothing asking anything of you.

Because most spaces feel full.
Full of noise.
Full of pressure.

This holds the opposite.

Calm.
Space.
A place to exhale.
