🤸‍♀️ NEW TO OUR INSPIRE SUMMER SCHEDULE… GYMNASTICS! 🤸‍♀️

We are so excited to be adding Gymnastics to our summer timetable at Millburn Community Centre! 💜

One of the best parts of growing Inspire is meeting passionate, qualified coaches who share our values and love helping children build confidence through movement. So when Emily got in touch about bringing Gymnastics to Inspire, I was absolutely delighted! 🥹

Emily holds a recognised British Gymnastics Level 1 Coaching qualification in Women's Artistic Gymnastics and has a real passion for working with children 🌟

As a mum myself, I know how difficult it can be to find gymnastics opportunities for this age group locally, so I was thrilled when Emily offered to bring these classes to Inspire over the summer months.

Our first 4-week block will run:

✨ 22nd July

Meet the cast of SIX - Teen Edition at The Playhouse.

First up is Jessica!

Taking on the role of Anne Boleyn in this summer's production of SIX: Teen Edition. Jessica is no stranger to the stage having performed as Wendy in Peter Pan, Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz, and Lumière in Beauty and the Beast. Jessica has also taken part in the National Youth Theatre Connections Festival.

She currently holds an unconditional offer to study Drama at Bath University. Alongside performing some of Jessica's main interests are singing, flute, and piano.

Hi everyone,
That's me on the way to the airport for our family holiday ☀️🙌💃🏼

I've left all clubs and classes in the capable hands of Niamh, Grace and Jess, who I know will do a fantastic job while I'm away 🤩
Just a reminder that there are only a few spaces remaining for our Summer Camp on the 7th, 8th and 9th July.
Places can be booked via our website with a £15 deposit ☀️💃🏼🎭🕺

Our summer schedule will begin on 1st July and bookings will open on Saturday 27th at 9am. We have two Bright Inspirations classes running this summer, one on Wednesdays and one on Saturdays, which should free up some spaces for lots of new faces to join us 🥰

Thank you all for your continued support this year. I can't wait to see you all when I'm back for a summer full of fun, laughter and performing arts adventures 🤩🎉☀️

A massive thank you to Claire for taking the time to visit Millburn Primary School and see first-hand the impact Arts Award can have on education, creativity and confidence-building through the arts.

It was a pleasure to welcome you and share the incredible work of the P6 pupils as they prepared for their Matilda and Wonder showcase 🎭

Thank you for your kind words, encouragement and support of creative opportunities for young people. Your recognition of the skills, confidence and experiences being developed through this pilot programme means so much to everyone involved. 🌟

🎭Millburn PS & Inspire Dance and Drama 🎭

Before heading to Stormont this morning, I had the pleasure of visiting Milburn Primary School, Coleraine to watch the final dress rehearsal ahead of tomorrow’s performances of Matilda and Wonder.

Led by Jessica Taylor from Inspire Dance and Drama, pupils have been involved in every aspect of the production. Alongside rehearsing their performances, they have explored the literature and themes behind the stories, designed costumes, worked on production elements and learned about lighting, sound and stage management. They have also had the opportunity to work alongside local businesses and community organisations, including Ballywillan Drama Group.

It is a fantastic example of how the arts can open young people’s eyes to a whole range of opportunities and skills. Not every child will go on to be an actor, but through programmes like this they can discover talents in design, production, writing, communication, teamwork, leadership and problem-solving.

Of course literacy, numeracy and academic achievement are important, but creativity matters too. The arts help develop confidence, imagination and resilience in ways that simply cannot be taught from a textbook. They encourage children to work together, express themselves and step outside their comfort zones.

I was incredibly impressed by the enthusiasm, talent and hard work on display this morning and I want to congratulate everyone involved. I wish all the pupils the very best for tomorrow’s performances and look forward to hearing how they get on. C

✨ When the process becomes reality ✨
This is what Arts Award is all about.

Millburn P6 pupils didn't just perform in Matilda- they became researchers, designers and creators. From exploring professional productions and sketching costume ideas, to making artistic decisions and refining their work, they experienced the full creative process.

Today, thanks to T&A Clothing, their designs came to life 🤩

Seeing pupils realise that their ideas have value, ownership and the power to become something real is exactly why opportunities like Arts Award matter 🌟

We couldn't be prouder of what they have achieved. 💜🎭
