Here’s a Cockermouth lino print by .fenton.printmaker whose work we’ll be looking at in tomorrow’s workshop, Printing Cockermouth.

“Using the architecture and landscape of Cockermouth as inspiration we will design and carve a scene in lino. You will learn how transfer an image to the block, carve it out using specialist tools, inking up the block and printing editions using the printing press. We will discuss composition and mark making to create tone, space and light. We will take inspiration from local artist Peter Fenton who uses lino prints to create evocative prints of town (images here are examples of Peter’s high quality works, some of which are for sale at in Cockermouth”

Last year invited me to collaborate with her on two lamp designs, one for me and one for her. We responded to each other’s designs, I really enjoyed choosing naturally dyed fabrics and blocks that matched the colour and atmosphere of the glazes. Here’s the lampshade I made for Flic, take a look at my stories for the lampshade I’ll be taking home 🌷

We have more on offer but they have sold out (please do ask to be added to our waitlist if you ever see a workshop has sold out, we also often rerun the same sessions too).

We also offer private bookings if there’s a particular process you’d like on a certain date, it doesn’t cost more (it actually costs less per person the more people in your group!). Get in touch if this interests you.
