Since emerging in 2016, Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage have been defying all conventions of style, genre and compartmentalisation. A touch of ‘Americana’, yet quintessentially English. Traditional, yet contemporary, with their individual writing style. Playful and instinctive, they make music with such panache and natural chemistry it makes perfect sense.

Hannah has an alluring mystique and a voice of disarming purity that massages your senses. Ben is a singular guitarist with a sound as distinctive as it is innovative. Together their harmonies and unique stage presence shimmer with an infectious enthusiasm and joy for the connection music offers.

Trevor Babajack Steger is an award-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a string of accolades, chart-topping albums, and sold-out shows across the UK and Europe.

His music has been championed by Cerys Matthews on BBC Radio 2 and Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, with airplay on countless stations worldwide.

Trevor’s sound is impossible to pin down. At first glance, "Acoustic Blues" might seem fitting, but it barely scratches the surface. His raw, ferocious energy, growling vocals, and masterful musicianship on harmonica, National guitar, lap steel, and more create a sound that defies categorization. Some call it Punk Blues, Swamp, Power Acoustic, Raw Roots, but none quite capture it. Think Tom Waits meets Sonny Terry, with guitar chops that rival the best in blues, folk, Americana, and beyond. 🔥 CONFIRMED 🔥 We're excited to announce Jess Silk is playing our Acoustic Stage on Sunday 20th June 2027 ❤️

Jess Silk is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from the Black Country. Armed only with an increasingly sticker-covered acoustic guitar, lyrics right from the heart and a distinctive, powerful voice that many don't expect, Jess's passionate and melodic brand of folk/punk music gets people sitting up and listening.

She released her debut album, 'Break the Bottle', in May 2018 with a packed out show at her spiritual home of Katie Fitzgerald’s in Stourbridge. In 2021, Jess released her second full-length album 'Blitz Spirit' and in April 2025 she released her EP 'Old, Broken Isle' which was recorded at Metway Studios in Brighton.

In recent years Jess has appeared at a number of major festivals including Glastonbury where she shared a stage with Billy Bragg as part of his Radical Roundup on the Left Field stage. She has opened for the likes of the Levellers, New Model Army and Bar Stool Preachers amongst others and she continues to tour around the UK playing festivals, supports and her own headline tours.

🔥 CONFIRMED 🔥 We're excited to announce Martha Tilston is playing our Acoustic Stage on Saturday 19th June 2027 ❤️

This will be her first appearance at Beardy Folk 🤩

Martha Tilston is a contemporary folk artist and filmmaker, whose poetic lyricism and engaging performances have earned her a devoted following.

Early in her career, she was nominated for a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award and contributed to Zero 7’s Yeah Ghost album. Since then she has independently released ten albums on her label, Squiggly Records, written, directed and starred in her own feature-length 2021 film The Tape and gained a nomination for ‘Best Arts Film’ at The Celtic Media Festival for The Cliff Top Sessions.

Martha grew up immersed in music. Her father (Steve Tilston) and step-mother (Maggie Boyle) were obvious influences, with their musician friends Bert Jansch, John Renbourn and John Martyn often gathering and singing in the family kitchen.

Known for intimate live shows blending folk and electronica, she continues to tour sold-out venues, captivating audiences with her crystal-clear vocals.

🔥 CONFIRMED 🔥 We're excited to announce The Often Herd are playing our Main Stage on Friday 18th June 2027 ❤️

This will be their first appearance at Beardy Folk!

The Often Herd transcend the traditional boundaries of bluegrass music. Although they might resemble an American string band, complete with driving energy, tight vocal harmonies and dazzling instrumental interplay, their vibrant, transatlantic sound is deeply coloured by their surroundings; the striking natural and industrial landscapes of Northern England. This unique approach won them the title of “Best European Bluegrass Band 2018” at the prestigious La Roche Bluegrass Festival in France.

Rupert Hughes (guitar) and Evan Davies (mandolin), write songs steeped in personal experience whilst drawing from a wide pool of influences ranging from old-time to psychedelia. American-born fiddler Niles Krieger and jazz bassist Sam Quintana add fiery instrumental skills to the mix, launching the band’s arrangements into the stratosphere. Together, their sound is both boldly contemporary and soothingly familiar, taking time-honoured traditions to new places with a fresh perspective. Flock to the herd, you won’t be disappointed.

🔥 CONFIRMED 🔥 We're excited to announce The Urban Folk Quartet are headlining our Main Stage on Thursday 17th June at Beardy Folk 2027 ❤️

Since 2009, UFQ have ignited audiences across the world with their cross-genre, contemporary take on folk music. They also appeared at the first ever Beardy Folk Festival back in 2018!

Rooted in Celtic tune forms and traditional song, UFQ also take influence from Afrobeat, Indian classical, funk, rock and a whole lot more. Featuring Joe Broughton on fiddle, guitar, and mandolin; Paloma Trigás on fiddle and vocals; Tom Chapman on cajón, percussion, and vocals; and Dan Walsh on banjo, guitar, and vocals, their show is a multi-instrumental spectacle of high-energy virtuosity.

Expect a groove-filled set of acoustic music, presented with infectious energy and humour.
