ETHEMIA
Whether in the UK or abroad someone is talking about Ethemia – the inspirational acoustic duo from Gloucestershire which is made up of Michaela Mott and Berny Poulton. Having played together solidly for over five years throughout Europe and across the UK, they are attracting ever increasing volumes of plaudits and media attention. Known as “one of the most sincere and hardest working ban
ds on the circuit” performing two to five gigs a week and broadcast on over 50 radio stations, including BBC Introducing, BBC 6 Music, The Gaby Roslin Show BBC London and featured on BBC Radio 2. Their distinctive sound with strong vocals, beautiful harmonies, catchy melodies and great guitar riffs brings 'Fleetwood Mac' and 'The Beautiful South' to mind, but their trademark charismatic onstage chemistry suggests ‘The Civil Wars’. Following the release of their debut album, 'Quirk of Fate' good reviews quickly followed from Press, Magazines and Media, including the BBC and Fatea Magazine. We now await their EP 'Common Ground' and their forth coming album 'Pure Intention'. It is rumoured they have some great session musicians performing on these titles; the like that have worked with Van Morrison to Dylan and from Sting to Natalie Imbruglia. They have played many great venues, small and large from the intimate 'Sofar Sounds' to the 'Union Chapel'. They have supported many legendary acts including, The Strawbs, Curved Air, Loudon Wainwright III and are soon to be supporting Steeleye Span. MUSIC INDUSTRY QUOTES & REVIEWS

" I was priviledged to see Ethemia perform at an intimate gig last night, they were incredible, just amazing..their voices & guitars dancing together...speechless, ...their album is one of my albums of this year so far." Paul Moss BBC Introducing. Quirk of Fate (Album Review)
"Stunning... Ethemia is more on the level of Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush’s tender and piquant duet... It is a timeless anachronistic record, it could have been recorded thirty years ago or might be of thirty years hence, but the result of writing and performing of this standard is that you truly feel it in the here and now." Dave Franklin ~ Greenman Publications 2013
Quirk of Fate (Album Review)
"Quirk Of Fate" kicks off with the powerful and thought provoking "Fingerprints On Me", a love song that is full of images of obsession and possession and which lays down a marker that Ethemia are a duo more than happy to dip a toe, foot, leg into the darker side of the human condition... Ethemia have only been together a relatively short time, but seem to have a real chemistry about them, something only enhanced by what seems like a slight West Country lilt. "Quirk Of Fate" an assured debut that more than lives up to its opening promise." Neil King Fatea Magazine April 2013
"Gearing themselves up to becoming famous, if I'm any judge." Chris Fry's Groovy Things Show ~ Stroud Fm Radio 107.9. "Their music and chemistry is a magical thing to behold with lush vocal harmonies and spellbinding melodies." The Prom, Bristol. Customer Comments on 'Quirk of Fate'

"Well written songs with personal and interesting lyrics set to good memorable melodies and some beautiful harmonies. They're also two of the nicest people you're likely to meet at a gig - so buy this album then go see them live!"
