Voces Mates

It was during a curry whilst still on a high after a particularly enjoyable "Come & Sing" event (Vivaldi's Gloria) that the idea for our ensemble was formed.

Voces Mates is a small ensemble of enthusiastic singers who meet for a couple of hours each week just to sing (mostly a capella) and have fun. We were formed in 2019 and are based in Christian Malford, Wiltshire. ristian Malford. Led by Jen Bamford, we sing a wide range of music;predominantly sacred pieces, motets and madrigals, but also some lighter pieces. Our original intention was to be a non-performing group, happy simply to have fun. However, we were having such a lot of fun that we decided it would be wonderful to share with others, and we agreed that singing for residents in care homes, or for fund-raising activities, would be a great thing to do. Our first performance was at Flowers Manor Care Home, Chippenham, on Sunday October 12th 2021. Since then, we have performed at the Brighter Futures charity event in Swindon, alongside SingFourFour community choir (Cricklade), and at All Saints’ Church, Christian Malford where we raised money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and for Crisis at Christmas. We have also performed alongside Malford Players in their productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream and Blackadder. Oh, and did we mention the cake? We have lots of tea and cake!

Thank you to everyone who came to support us at our Spring Concert at All Saints, it was great to see the church so full. Thank you also to all those who worked so hard to make it such a special event. We thoroughly enjoyed it and hope you did too. We are delighted to announce that we raised over £900 to be shared between All Saints and Dorothy House.

We're delighted to announce that our Spring Concert will be held at All Saints, Christian Malford, on Sunday March 1st at 3pm. All proceeds will be shared between All Saints and Dorothy House.
