Over the last few weeks, the QRidian headquarters (our home office) has been busy. We’re deep into designing a brand-new playstyle and trail structure, specifically focused on community achievement.
We wanted to try something a little different. This trail will be entirely drop in, no accounts or registrations needed, and all of your wanderings will contribute to a final, collective community goal.
Think of it as a massive, interactive "whodunnit" that has branching narratives that intertwine; so that depending on the order you visit the "suspects" (checkpoints), they might corroborate or completely contradict each other's alibis. Making each route you choose give a different perspective and journey.
Alongside making this new playstyle, we are also refining and refreshing the gameplay for Operation Orchard Audit, creating new story arcs, resource management and strategy so no two events are the same.
To bring this to life, we have been working overtime:
Molly is currently writing 38 brand new stories, told across 133 blocks of gossip text and featuring 52 characters (both old favourites and fresh faces).
Now that the website is officially live, Bernie can focus his attention on developing the permanent QRidian Engine, making our backend much more practical, robust, and built for purpose, with everything in one place, no more ‘wait, what folder did I save that to?’.
