How sweet is this preview from a shoot I had at the weekend. I've been photographing this family since this sweet boy was almost 1 and now here he is with his little sister at Christmas.

I've been back and forth this week about doing a ''Black Friday'' offer, but I decided I pay aswell jump on the band wagon.

In love these pictures of beautiful Ophelia with her family, including her fury brother. So special to be able to capture her as she’s grown from a newborn, to now on her first Christmas.

Aswell as being a lovely memory I know these are going to make some very special Christmas cards this year too and I can’t wait to see!

Creating Traditions.

Monthly pizza and movie night, baking gingerbread at Christmas, mushroom spotting walks in Autumn.

However grand or simple, or even unremarkable some moments may seem, these rituals and rhythms are the small pieces which add up to make a childhood filled with fond memories, smells which remind them of home, nostalgic tastes and sounds which take you back in time.

We have the power to forge a childhood rich in traditions, creating a foundation of security and the best kind of predictability. Setting them up for a life time of encountering sweet madeleines to treasure and pass down our lineage.

Now with my own family these rituals and traditions are so important to me and making sure to capture these moments whenever we can. Next year when we go back to Libby’s Pumpkin & Sunflower Patch for the 4th year in a row, we will have a new addition to our family to watch grow year after year.

Baby’s first Christmas 🎄

Who else has a new addition to their family to celebrate with this year?

Definitely feeling festive after this shoot today and starting to think about the end of the year - how did that happen?!

I can’t believe that next Christmas we will have another little one joining in the festivities with us. I have to be honest after a crazy season, I’m looking forward to some time off preparing for baby and enjoying life as a family of four.

Let the countdown commence !🎄

The Christmas shoots have been much anticipated this year so I’ve tried to get the dates out a little bit earlier than normal.

These are the last shoots I will be doing now before baby arrives and won’t be doing mini sessions again now until 2024 (as is the current plan) so make sure to get booked in if you’ve been thinking about capturing some memories with your family.

9 years ago I went to see a psychic who is well known for being amazing, with my best friend for my birthday. She said a lot of things to me that were unbelievable and have stuck with me ever since.

At the time I was in a relationship and so I didn’t pay much attention to what she said about seeing another man in my future. And anyway, who spends their life walking around trying to get a potential partner to fit into a box a psychic made?

Fast forward to yesterday afternoon whilst on the phone to a friend talking about this psychic visit for a totally different reason and out of nowhere I remembered something she said to me.

I thought maybe I had added some frills to it, so I went immediately to the friend who went with me to see if she remembered what the lady had said about the ‘other man’. To which she replied “ oh yes, the one with the W name and something about Scotland. “

Silence. What the ****.

Maybe you don’t believe in story’s like that. Maybe you do. All I know is that last week in Scotland I married my best friend and became Mrs Wood and I didn’t know it was possible for things to all seem so perfect.
