As a growing charity this support helps to ensure we are able to deliver an exciting programme celebrating the best of world cinema from emerging talent to pre-release headliners.

Introducing Film Hub South West's Supported Members for 2026

We're pleased to share some of the fantastic film exhibitors and cultural organisations across the South West financially supported by Film Hub South West this year to help develop film programmes, reach new audiences and create opportunities for people to engage with cinema in different ways.

The funding supports activity through:

• Film Exhibition Fund (FEF)
• Pitch Pot
• BFI FAN National Season Rip It Up

Check out the list and find out what each organisation is up to at: https://watershed.co.uk/filmhub/news/film-hub-south-west-announces-supported-members-for-2026/

The support is provided through Film Hub South West, as part of the BFI Film Audience Network (BFI FAN), awarding National Lottery Good Causes funding.

We pick award winners! Films screened at FilmChelt 2025 performed well during awards season with Rose Byrne’s picking up the best actress Golden Globe for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.
FilmChelt’s annual film festival not only gives film lovers the chance to enjoy top films before general release, but also award-winning films.
The festival offers a diverse and eclectic programme from classics to new releases.
There was a buzz around Sentimental Value, starring Elle Fanning, Renate Reinsve and Stellan Skarsgard, which was proved right when the film was nominated for nine Oscars, eight Baftas and eight Golden Globes. It won an Oscar for best international film, with Skarsgard winning a best supporting actor Golden Globe, and director and co-writer Joachim Trier winning the Cannes Grand Prix, and scoring 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences in Cheltenham loved it too.
Another strong performer was If I Had Legs I’d Kick You starring Rose Byrne who won the best actress Golden Globe for her performance. It was also nominated for BAFTA, Oscar and SAG awards.

Our next Cinerama screening is:

STRONGROOM

22 May
Doors 7.15 Film 8.00
St Luke’s Hall
GL53 7HP

This sweaty British 60’s thriller has inspired the likes of Scorsese and Tarantino but it disappeared. Now rediscovered and restored, the film clocks in at 80 minutes and packs more twists and turns than a film twice that long.

Don’t miss your chance to see this gem.
