Did you know, the UK imports fur from around 1 million murdered animals each year – despite fur farms being banned in the UK by a Labour government 25 years ago?

Fur farms are despicable for animals and pose a significant health concern for humans too.

Over 1.5 million people have called on the Government to end the UK’s involvement in this trade and finally reach a . We are joining FOUR PAWS
and Humane World for Animals UK in urging Ministers to support Ruth Jones MP Fur (Import and sales) Ban Bill when it is debated in Parliament tomorrow, 13th June.

Exhibition announcement: ‘Fading Footsteps’ by final year student .art.liverpool at Public Exhibition Space.

Liverpool has a rich history where exotic animals have been central to many aspects of our lives including entertainment, scientific enquiry, and not least our city’s rich maritime heritage. But in recent decades there has been a growing sense of disconnectedness with these animals.

Habitat destruction, human encroachment, the climate crisis and globalization have accelerated primate species loss, and most of Africa’s great ape species are now decreasing in number.

Visual art can be a powerful activist tool to combat biodiversity loss and foster greater emotional regard for non-human animals. This exhibition presents an auto-ethnographical account of a visit to Uganda. Personal meaning maps, paintings and films aim
to stimulate awareness of endangered and vulnerable primate species and evoke increased empathy towards supporting conservation.

Public opening 5-7pm 15th August. Exhibition runs from 16th August - 23rd August, weekdays 9-5pm only.

Suzanne Grace is an artist and conservationist based in Liverpool.
