Stickmen

So... two things happened this week:
1) I ran out of paper to work on my Stickmen collection so I painted something else instead...

2) We're planning a trip to the West Coast of Ireland and I'm feeling excited to revisit my homeland. It felt so good to be using my favourite colours again. And of course the little house is always a dreamlike destination.

All my paintings transport me to other places. I invite you to come along...

It started with Love, mighty like an ancient forest, deep and dense and everlasting.

But in time Love got lost in living. It was as if her letters, once whole and true, grew apart, as though an ice age crept between them the way a glacier cuts through rock, slowly...slowly...

Love wandered far, crossed continents and galaxies in search of the way back, except home was now a hearth under permafrost, and the heart that beat was just an old machine from bygone days that only knew how to keep time. Bereft, she named the stars after each of her lovers, spelt their names on the heavens with the diamonds of her tears.

Slow down for just a moment, listen closely, and you will hear Love's compass charting the night sky. The universe is a mappa mundi for all the loves you have known. They wait for you, eternally, to find them.
