So tonight’s the night that lots of us have been waiting for - the reopening of The Rising Sun Truro.
We’ll be leading a shout from 8.30pm and hope that lots of you will be there to join in with the songs - most of them traditional, some of them a little less so 🙂 🎶

You’d be forgiven for thinking this was a comedy post because the photos we took tonight were unfailingly dreadful and unsmiling, and certainly don’t tell the tale of the lovely night we had at the Black Flag Brewery in Perranporth 🙂
Thanks to Sylv and Row, Stamp and Go and The Perraners for sharing a great evening of song!
We did at least manage to get Sylv and Row to pose so we won’t have to share our action shot of them (and they will thank us for that!)

It’s suddenly feeling very autumnal - the nights are beginning to draw in. And we’ve seen some of that wet stuff falling from the sky that we’d largely forgotten …
We’ve had a great summer with a couple of Cornish concerts and some excellent Shouts in different pubs in and around Truro. Many of us had the amazing experience of performing at the Interceltic Festival at Lorient - quite the choir outing that turned out to be!
Does that seem like something you might like to do? We’re always keen to find new members to join us.
If you enjoying singing and you can hold a note, why not come along and give it a go?
We rehearse on Thursday evenings (not this week as we’re singing in Perranporth!) at All Saints Highertown. You can just turn up at 7.30pm, but better to send us a message on here so we can make sure we give you the right welcome and sort you out with a buddy in the appropriate section to help you find your feet.
If you want to have a chat about what it involves, just let us know by sending us a message and one of us will be very happy to give you a call.
But we all love it and it gives many of us a great social life as well as getting to sing regularly, which is great for your physical and mental health.

A busy week in store for us.
First up, on Thursday night we have a Shout at the Black Flag Brewery - always a great venue, sharing a bill with lots of local musical talent.
That kicks off around 7.30.
Then on Saturday we finally have the reopening of The Rising Sun Truro - something we know that lots of people have been waiting for.
The doors open at 6pm and we will be singing from 8.30pm.
So we hope to see lots of our friends this week!

What a fantastic time we had at the Driftwood Spars last night.
The garden was absolutely packed for a wonderful evening.
Thanks to everybody who came along, all those who joined in, and also to the pub for looking after us so well.
We’ve already got a return to St Agnes booked for the same time next year!
Great venue :)

Who’s coming to the reopening of the Riser?

The Rising Sun is coming back to life, and things are moving quickly behind the scenes!

✅ Bar deep cleaned
🍺 Beer order being prepared
✅ Beer gas supplier sorted
✅ Pub being dressed and prepared for opening
🌿 Gardener starting work
🌸 Hanging baskets on order
👨‍🍳 Our new chef is already creating some amazing ideas

Every day, another piece falls into place, and we honestly can’t wait to open the doors once again.

The Riser is well and truly on the up! ☀️
