Welcome to the Lemonesque Studio team, Owen Purdie
Please welcome local lad Owen Purdie
Owen is our newest intern at and starts tomorrow as soon as he's dropped the kids at School.
I found him through linkedin where I have jobs advertised in my studio or out on the road running a live mobile recording rig. All positions I hope to make salary positions. You work 1 month layby time to get to know the studio and for me to get to know your learning speed and payscale. Some work is unpaid. For example I need session files from Cubase edited and consolidated, time aligned, silence stripped etc for EVERY DAW so I can get my learning courses out to EVERYONE interested.
Opened on Monday 24th March A special friend's birthday if I remember right. She'll know who she is. She had a brother named Scott hey Scott, therapy helps, brother. Come up for the tour. And say hello to Margaret for me, I loved your mum but didn't see much of her after the move to Stonehouse. Your sister won't be interested but give her my regards (and tell her it's real studio and I don't do karaoke anymore but I did hold onto all the old recordings of Stone Ginger and Lemonesque #1 in the front room at Honeybank.
We hope to have Owen in a few days a week to expand his already vast music industry knowledge. He tells me he doesn't drink. I don't mind if he gets wired to Planet Janet every weekend, as long as he's here for starting time, clean, fresh and ready to learn every Monday morning after School drop-off.
Owen is highly knowledgeable and skilled in his field of live sound reinforcement and dance/house music and most important (if you also want to intern here) is highly experienced and familiar with more than one DAW to create/mix/master & distribute from Lemonesque Records the future hits of South Lanarkshire.
Let's put CARLUKE on the map as the new music capital of Scotland.
I need to talk with venue owners, concert promoters, the council, getting my business registered and canceling my government benefits after my RTA, spinal injury, mental breakdown when I didn't get any better and was mistreated with no special measures in place when I returned to work for the local authority. Out the door with 11 weeks wages for 20+ years service while under the psychiatric care of my GP ond on a 30mg he**in substitute to stop me throwing myself of the Cartland bridge. Thank you for your generosity when I was in a broken mental state and hiding from my past and the world at large. Everyone that was there for me, Louie Nelson, SCRUB, Rosie Paterson, Ali Paterson, Brooke Paterson, Auld Jimmy who av no seen fae 2024 SORT IT OUT! And ma wife I married in 2018. The most beautiful heart and broken mind I've ever met. We clicked instantly and stayed locked in for many years before marriage and would have had more happy years if we weren't forced to live under emergency housing in Newlands Terrace, one of Carluke's worst kept streets. We can improve Carluke by miles. Wish the local authority would have enough COURAGE to tell me how many empty live music venue spaces went unbooked in 2014.
Why don't we ALL put in an FOI to SLC and the scottish parliament?
Live music scene is barely hanging on. I have a recording studio and 40 years experience as well as I can record/mix/publish and release ALL the local and surrounding talent, one free song for each, the interns will do the recording and mixing as they learn and polish their studio skills.
I need the spare time for the 5 year plan, the Streetlevel/universal connections gig, the DATA TRANSFER side, the live recording in your rehearsal space gig, so many branches already because this has been a spare time gig for 41 years I started on the sage in the Welfare hall on Sandy Road when Carluke had tennis courts, putting greens, an old man's hut and SO MUCH MORE!
In 5 years time I plan to open the Finnie & Thomson musical education hub in Carluke employing up to 30 people inhouse and have business for lots of local services. I want live music in local venues every night of the week.
Youth culture problems in Carluke? Lets get another meeting with polis scotland and all the local schools and let me talk to them and give them a path to a better future and life than I've had growing up here since moving from windmill hill street in Motherwell.
and mum...thanks for pressing that big belly up against the dancette every Saturday in 1968 when you bought the #1 7" single each saturday from Semple's in Moffat, your hometown....who didn't buy the chart stuff every week on vinyl if you grew up before streaming?
Highly recommend if YOU want to intern here a few hours a week or if you have decent convertors and monitoring chain in an acoustically treated space to mix in and prepare multitrack sessions in the DAW you are familiar with for mixing, I can trade you 40 years experience in the industry from gigging musician, touring musician, tour manager 3 years 500+ shows 3 x UK & Ireland tours, the design and build of 5 recording studios.
I know how to treat a space on a silly low budget like I could come treat your room and calibrate it for less than £400
GET IN TOUCH, still looking for more staff!! & interns. Cubase/Nuendo editing an advantage but any DAW experience, some college or a basic understanding of the industry will definatelf help, maybe!

I'm doing a Partic Monkeys album to my 16 track 1" tape machine this summer where alan, billy, bobo and maself will take 25% of everything from it for the rest of our lives. How you gettin on? Can you tell me anything you learned the hard way starting a new business? I need to know about security, insurance and a whole bunch of other stuff. I never pay my associates in cash, only in more work or shared knowledge on everything from music, business advertising for free and community projects to build the youth of today into the best of adults tomorrow.

They didn't accept my apology and I left feeling bewildered because I genuinely ment it. They looked down their noses at me, I was singled out at SLC moved from pillar to post, when we did finally break free of private letting , you took £460 of my 800 take home pay for a shoebox in cairnhill court with single glazing, When I told you we were moving out you had the glaziers in the following week to double glaze that flat with the wages I earned at the council. I had to show you my 5 year old bank transaction to get the 2 months 900 deposit back, then you said you hadn't even bothered to check the bank in 5 years while we skrimped and scraped every fu***ng spare penny we had to get out of there. If I've been mistreated by you I'll give you one chance to make amends, after that I dig a hole in my head and bury you alive and I never think of you again. Ask my ex wife if you don't believe me. She stopped me spending more time than I wanted with my son, the one she wouldn't come to the registrar office to register with me. Why was that Ann? Didn't you think he was mine?
Labour are in now and we can already see the damage, higher bills, higher prices, more tax and less frontline services.
It's up to us to rebuild the community in Carluke and surrounding. F**k the council. Lets get joined up and skill sharing.l A knowledgeable public knows how to use a vote to their advantage. BBC didn't help Scotland in 2014, they turned on the propaganda like they did in both world wars, iraq in 90, Iran, every where they can draw blood and resources from that are in. They annexed india and Ireland Ireland seen sense, Scotland is starting to see it slowly. If you do business abroad you already feel the pinch of Brexit, covid killed all social gatherings, that was a test for the separation and the coming war. Get turned on to your neeburs and keep everyone in the loop. A connected community is a safer community.
Let's drop the "Town called Cuntage" banner and the war ties and the union ties and just be Carlukians again for now?
