Wales' leading multi-venue, music discovery festival.

Sŵn Festival is an award-winning multi-venue music festival based entirely in Cardiff’s city centre, which has been running since 2007. Since its inception, the festival has been focused on new music, emerging artists and homegrown acts. We take over a great big handful of our favourite venues and spaces in Cardiff and curate an electrifying weekend of refreshing music that exhilarates us and you.

For three days, Cardiff city centre is transformed into a hub for music-makers and music-fanatics where you get to explore this wonderful city and discover remarkable new music. The festival isn’t exclusive to any particular style of music. We book artists that excite us and we hope they excite you too.

We’re buzzing to bring you the latest additions to Sŵn 2026. New names added to the lineup include indie stars Westside Cowboy , Bar Italia, Murkage Dave, Gently Tender , and many, many more!

Not only that, your day splits are here, and day tickets are on sale now, meaning that you can start scribbling down who you want to catch on each day. Prices start from £20 for an entire day of live music, bargain!

Our latest Sŵn Spotlight has us shine a light on

After playing Sŵn 2025, we couldn’t resist having Tokomololo back at the festival this year. He mixes Welsh-language lyricism with electronics to create a meditative and deeply immersive sound. Hailing from Anglesey, he has taken field recordings from the nearby Eyri Mountains. He even walked up a mountain for the release of his single ‘Deffro’.

A lot of his work is surrounded by the natural environment, which pairs perfectly with the theme of finding comfort in solitude, that you can find throughout his work. His live set is an entrancing mixture of live loops and vocal manipulation, amongst electronic sounds that help you reach a higher plane.

We’re looking forward to a second round of Tokomololo at Sŵn this year, in what’s set to be a deeply engrossing set.

Ar ôl chwarae yn Sŵn yn 2025, roedd rhaid i ni ddod â Tokomololo ’nôl i’r ŵyl eleni. Mae’n cymysgu geiriau Cymraeg gydag electroneg i greu sain myfyriol sy’n eich trochi. Gydag Ynys Môn yn gartre iddo, mae wedi bod yn gwneud recordiadau maes o Fynyddoedd Eryri gerllaw. Fe wnaeth hyd yn oed gerdded i fyny mynydd i ryddhau ei sengl ‘Deffro’.

Mae llawer o’i waith wedi’i amgylchynu gan fyd natur, sy’n mynd yn berffaith gyda’r thema o ganfod cysur mewn unigedd, sydd i’w gweld drwy gydol ei waith. Mae ei set fyw yn gymysgedd benfeddwol o lŵps byw a llais wedi’i addasu, gyda synau electronig sy’n eich helpu i gyrraedd lefel uwch.

Rydyn ni’n edrych ymlaen i ail rownd Tokomololo yn Sŵn eleni, mewn set sy’n debygol o fod yn gyfareddol.

Our latest Sŵn Spotlight features

Honeyglaze is a hard band to pin down. Made up of Anouska Sokolow, Yuri Shibuichi and Tim Curtis, the South London trio don’t strictly conform to one sound. Best described as indie and experimental, Sokolow’s vocals act as the focal point, upon which their guitars cross over. Early in their career, they caught the attention of Speedy Wunderground’s Dan Carey, releasing their debut self-titled album on the label in 2022. They were one of many bands to emerge from Brixton venue The Windmill’s burgeoning scene which featured bands such as Shame, Black Midi and Squid.

One of their most striking elements is the straightforward honesty of Sokolow’s lyrics, with the delivery of them being reminiscent of Angel Olsen at times. They’ve shown themselves to be a band who perfectly capture bittersweetness, switching between the highs and lows of growing into your twenties.

Prepare to be in awe of Honeyglaze’s dazzling live set at Sŵn Festival in October.

Mae Honeyglaze yn fand anodd ei ddisgrifio. Gydag Anouska Sokolow, Yuri Shibuichi a Tim Curtis yn ffurfio’r band, dydy’r triawd o dde Llundain ddim yn cydymffurfio’n llwyr i un sain. Indi ac arbrofol fyddai’r geiriau sy’n eu disgrifio orau, gyda llais Sokolow yn gweithredu fel y canolbwynt i’w gitârs groesi drosto. Ar ddechrau eu gyrfa, dalion nhw sylw Dan Carey o Speedy Wunderground, cyn rhyddhau eu halbwm gyntaf dan yr un enw â’r band ar y label yn 2022. Roedden nhw’n un o’r bandiau niferus i darddu yn sîn fywiog The Windmill yn Brixton, lle roedd bandiau fel Shame, Black Midi a Squid.

Un o’u nodweddion mwyaf trawiadol yw gonestrwydd syml geiriau Sokolow, sy’n cael eu cyflwyno mewn modd sy’n dwyn Angel Olsen i gof ar adegau. Maen nhw wedi dangos eu bod nhw’n fand sy’n cyfleu chwerwfelysrwydd yn berffaith, gan gyfnewid rhwng yr uchafbwyntiau a’r isafbwyntiau o dyfu i mewn i’ch ugeiniau.

This week's Sŵn Spotlight artist is the one and only

British-French artist Lauren Auder creates meticulously arranged baroque pop songs. Growing up around music having music journalist parents, she spent many years in France before having some initial forays into music via London’s underground hip-hop scene. She has collaborated with some of pop music’s most vital alternative artists including Caroline Polachek and Danny L Harle.

One of her most recognisable tracks is ‘Unseen’ featuring Celeste, in which both artists' voices are in perfect tandem. Having an eye for a beautiful piano melody, and dramatic orchestral arrangements, her album ‘Whole World As A Vigil’, released in March, is a beautiful journey featuring delightful, poignant arrangements.

We can’t wait to be transfixed by one of the most unique artists in pop music at the moment.

Cafodd ei magu wedi’i hamgylchu gan gerddoriaeth gyda rhieni oedd yn ohebwyr cerddoriaeth, a threuliodd lawer o flynyddoedd yn Ffrainc cyn mentro’n wreiddiol i gerddoriaeth drwy sîn hip-hop danddaearol Llundain. Mae hi wedi cydweithio gyda rhai o artistiaid amgen mwyaf hanfodol y byd pop, gan gynnwys Caroline Polachek a Danny L Harle.

‘Unseen’ gyda Celeste yw un o’i thraciau mwyaf adnabyddus, lle clywn leisiau’r ddwy artist yn cyd-fynd yn berffaith. Gyda chlust am alaw biano swynol a threfniannau cerddorfaol dramatig, mae ei halbwm ‘Whole World As A Vigil’, a ryddhawyd ym mis Mawrth, yn daith fendigedig llawn trefniannau hyfryd a theimladwy.

Allwn ni ddim aros i gael ein swyno gan un o’r artistiaid mwyaf unigryw yn y byd pop ar hyn o bryd.

Up next for a Sŵn Spotlight we have Makeshift Art Bar

Belfast’s Makeshift Art Bar have been friends since school and initially bonded over a shared love of shoegaze. Now, the band creates a mixture of experimental rock music, flitting between post-punk, electronic and art rock. Any lull in intensity risks the threat of vocalist Joseph Sweeney cutting through with a shrieking vocal. They’ve gained momentum in recent years with the release of their debut EP ‘Lackluster Writing Makes Fundamental Reading’ releasing in 2025, and a subsequent tour supporting Chalk.

Signed to Heist Or Hit, their second EP ‘Marionette’ will be released on June 26th, and is produced by Daniel Fox of Gilla Band. It’s set to be a suitably chaotic mixture of harsh snare hits, blaring electronics and explosive guitar sounds.

Bellach mae’r band yn creu cymysgedd o gerddoriaeth roc arbrofol, gan neidio rhwng ôl-pync, electroneg a roc celf. Mae unrhyw oedi yn y dwyster yn debygol o gael ei chwalu gyda sgrech gan y lleisydd Joseph Sweeney. For our latest Sŵn Spotlight, we have ✮

Modern Woman formed as a result of Londoner Sophie Harris’ solo work. Initially sharing her work via poetry events, she met violinist David Denyer, and the band kept growing with the additions of Juan Brint-Gutiérrez on bass and saxophone and Adam Blackhurst on drums. The band’s debut album ‘Johnny’s Dreamworld’ was released in May via their own label One Little Independent Records, and produced by Joel Burton (Katy J Pearson, Naima Bock).

The album is full of contrasts, where sharp bursts of violin cross over with heavy riffs, giving an experimental edge to the album. Harris’ vocals are never stagnant, going from exasperated to soaring highs at the flick of a switch. You can feel the influence of vocalists such as Björk in the way she adds drama and tension to the songs.

One of 2026’s most exciting new bands, you can catch them live at Sŵn Festival later this year.
