Maddie and the band have won numerous live competitions, including Cardiff’s Big Gig judged by industry experts including a major festival curator, and a national radio DJ. Maddie (the main writer of the group) has been mentored in songwriting by Amy Wadge (Grammy-winning Ed Sheehan co-writer, who described Maddie as ‘exceptionally talented’). Essentially, the Maddie Jones band combines an eclectic musical upbringing spanning everything from blues to funk, from Bowie to QOTSA, and brings it all together with a pop sensibility. It’s a melting pot of catchy riffs and melodic hooks: experimentation meets dancey grooves.

The band’s theatrical performances have seen their reputation grow at an exceptional rate during their festival run of 2016. Having self-released three EPs (2010, 2013 and 2015), and an album (2014), the band have once more been working with renowned producer Charlie Francis (REM, Future of the Left), and crowdfunding to release new material in 2016-7.
