By drawing from the past, learning in the present and looking to the future we are continually evolving.
Our guiding light is approaching work with a truth to materials. We work with iron, bronze, brass, natural stone, rich woods, glass and textiles and use them the way they asked to be used, that’s where traditional skills and processes are key.

We always work to produce animated pieces that bring life to a living space. A static surface or form is a missed opportunity to bring the rhythm of a maker or craftsperson into the mix.

This design is play on the irregular nature of handblown glass; each glass shade being different, once fitted, can be revolved on the metalwork to your favourite angle.

We are honoured to grace the habitually moreish pages of in their Antiques issue with our Wisteria Mirror. We take great pride and care in crafting our signature antique finishes, so it was no surprise to be among fabulous company in ‘The New Reign of Classic Patina’ shown in this series.

For this piece, hand-picked Wisteria branches from the woodland floor are cast in bronze and seem to twist and grow over a fine iron frame. The panels of opal glass are hand-silvered, lightly antiqued and textured, resembling rippled water.

Christopher Cox designed this vanity stand and mirrored cabinet for his London Home.

The carved antique marble-basin is from an Italian county house circa 1830 inspired by virtuoso 20th century iron worker Gilbert Poillerat. The rope work on the vanity, terminates in frayed ends as though unwinding, and suspended in water.

The three mirror panels, with a brilliant cut star and gilded rope twist borders serves as his and hers storage.

delecuona sheer allows privacy between bedroom and bathroom and the hand plastered walls are by the brilliant Plaster Collective ask for “Cox Green”.

Bronzed-iron skirtings edge the antique floor boards, reclaimed from a northern victorian factory.

The glass shades are borrowed from our Opal Angel Lights, inspired by a chinoiserie screen above the Cox’s bed.

It could be the delicate, budding flower on the brink of blooming, or perhaps a shapely moss-covered branch embedded in the garden floor that invites a visceral
response from artists Chris and Nicola Cox—a reaction that inevitably leads to immortalising the natural form.

Here the Burr mirror and console celebrate the extraordinary beauty and rarity of nature’s imperfections in all their rustic glory.

Nicola and Chris met at Art School through a shared love of the sculptural and physical act of making. Their work has been described as ‘entwined’.

‘We’re like two trees who have grown together as one. Our material processes were so complementary right from the start, my fabrication helped Nicky’s practice and her casting enhanced mine. I think we rely on one another more than we can understand.’

Magma
Antique Silver Plated
Limited edition of 10

The story of creation for this piece evolved as each material influenced the next stage of design.

Wax was sculpted and formed into ancient root vines. This expression of a gnarled piece of wood was then transformed by process into an explosion of molten metal, giving this cast bronze chandelier its name. The shades are formed in the kiln by slumping glass into moulds, no two are alike.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the annual Pimlico Road street party. This year, our theme was midsummer, a time of botanical abundance, perfectly honouring our greatest muse, the natural world. The celebrations began with a ceremonious flower crown workshop and blossomed into an enchanting evening filled with dancing and laughter.
