Our biggest and most joyful show Organoke is turning 10 years old! Never experienced it? well now is your chance
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFIlzGASYLk

Come sing your heart out to Karaoke Classics with the star of the show: THE MIGHTY ORGAN as we turn it up to 11 for a joyous night of en-masse singing of your favourite classic “choons” in a grade 2* listed Neo-Gothic church alongside a full live band, and your host getting you on your feet singing like you’re Britney on tour!
It’s an experience like no other; that transcends tradition and is described as "The most brilliantly bonkers night out” and “Organoke isn’t just fun, it’s a full-throttle, glitter-soaked, serotonin-drenched explosion of pure human euphoria.” If that’s not a ringing endorsement, we don’t know what is!

Huge congratulations to Ashley Valentine AKA for a brilliant evening of not one but TWO hilarious Buster Keaton classics live on the organ and piano.
Thanks to everyone who joined us. Stay tuned for the announcement of the next one.

THE SCARECROW (1920) PG - LIVE ON THE MIGHTY ORGAN (20 MIN)
Two farmhands share a bedsit of miraculous ingenuity: a gramophone that moonlights as a stove, a bath that converts into a sofa. Both men are rivals for the farmer’s daughter, and what follows is a madcap chase involving escaped dogs, runaway motorbikes, and a wedding ceremony conducted at full speed from a moving vehicle. Keaton at his most inventive — a masterclass in physical comedy and the art of transforming everyday domestic space into a surreal, logic defying playground.

THE CAMERAMAN (1928) PG - LIVE ON PIANO (69 MIN)
Buster Keaton reinvents himself as a newsreel cinematographer in pursuit of a girl, a scoop, and a shred of dignity — usually in that order.

A street photographer utterly besotted, wholly untrained, and chronically unlucky, he blunders through assignment after assignment while his slicker rival steals both the girl and the best footage. A chaotic street battle in New York’s Chinatown and a near drowning at a public lido push the story to its crisis point — until, in the end, sincerity triumphs over swagger.

With its balletic slapstick and aching romantic undercurrent, The Cameraman stands as one of the most purely pleasurable films ever made, deemed culturally, historically and aesthetically significant by the United States National Film Registry.

“Keaton’s genius was built for the cinema. But heard live, with music breathing through these stone walls, it becomes something else entirely — communal, immediate, and utterly alive.”

TONIGHT - Sat 16 May - a Buster Keaton double bill

Keaton’s last great film, The Cameraman, is his love letter to the machine that makes movies possible. He plays a humble street photographer smitten with a pretty secretary, but the camera is his real costar, at once an ornery antagonist and an alter ego.

Experience two masterworks of silent comedy as they come to life on the big screen, accompanied live by the extraordinary organist and pianist Ashley Valentine.

Sun 28 Jun - The London Ambient Orchestra
An improvised orchestral experience.

Set within the beautiful architecture of St Giles, this special one-off performance from The London Ambient Orchestra invites audiences into a slowly unfolding world of sound shaped entirely in the moment.

Formed from a diverse collective of London-based improvisers, composers and musicians, the LAO places conservatory-trained classical players alongside electronics, pedal steel guitar, samplers and live processing to create music that is contemplative, textural and expansive.

Born from exploratory sessions in East London rehearsal rooms and DIY studio spaces, the ensemble has developed a reputation for fluid, spontaneous performances at festivals including Wilderness Festival, and sold-out London shows at Stone Nest and The Jazz Cafe. They have collaborated with artists including Douglas Dare and Lubomyr Melnyk, and received praise from ambient pioneer William Basinski.

Expect an evening of meditative sound, attentive listening and deep musical interplay — a shared experience shaped by the space, the players and the audience.

“This is gorgeous!” – William Basinski
“An undoubted highlight of the weekend” – Wilderness Festival

Live At St Giles is excited to be part of Everywhere At Once powered by The National Lottery this June.

Taking place from 26-28 June, it’s the UK’s biggest music festival on your doorstep with 1000+ gigs, 400+ venues, 1 weekend.

Join us for a different kind of festival. Closer to the music. Where local matters. Where everyone belongs.
