Imagine how it must feel to have your child stripped away from you!!! And by people wearing balaclavas!
Imagine how it must feel when you are finally reunited with your loved one!
I painted "Reunion — Safe at last" to present that fragile moment after a long separation. The work depicts a mother kneeling with her child tucked to her chest — the hospital wristband, the teddy on the ground, and the faint figures beyond the fence all speak to the journey that led to this pause. The layered paint and brushwork aimed to convey both relief and the weight that remains.

Final steps, smoothing down the now rock hard resin, to keep the aesthetic by removing any drips, and to be safe by smoothing down any sharp edges formed on the Bra tips.

We are taking our art to show, starting in 2 days!! All day Thurs, Fri and Sat this weekend! Here's a few of the pieces we are taking. Love to see you there for a great chat. Whoop whoop! This painting was a winner in the Art Space Yellow competition 2026!!! I love it when other people love a piece of the art I made. Especially when it is other artists.
This piece can cause a bit of controversy with some folks thinking it is cultural appropriation. It is not. It is an piece celebrating the culture of the Aboriginal peoples and helping educate the world of the beauty and authenticity of those peoples.
SpiritGlow acknowledges all the peoples of Australia, the traditional owners of the land and waters and offer our respect to their Elders both past and present.
