WhiteRabittDesigns Textile artwork using a variety of techniques and media. My name is Jayne Townsend. All of this helps to capture the ethos of a bygone era.

I create hand made, original and individual artwork using vintage fabrics and embellishments. My work is under the title of WhiteRabittDesigns as I have a bit of a thing about Alice in Wonderland. Commissions are welcome, individual pieces can be created to personalise the work. Hand and machine stitching is incorporated, wax entrapment and waxed wire and silk structures are used to create 3D piec

I aim to capture precious memories and moments in my work and I do so by using vintage pieces of fabric sourced from a variety of places including members of my own family, genuine letters, texts and images and found objects such as brooches, beads, ribbons and buttons. In this way, precious memories can be captured within each piece. My work is on permanent exhibition at The Gallery in the Gardens in Buxton, Derbyshire and Jarva Gallery, Whaley Bridge. I regularly try to experiment with new techniques to allow my work to evolve and develop. I have been invited to offer talks to various branches of The Embroiderers Guild in the Uk and my work has been featured in the blogs of several embroidery groups in the US.
