I've recently had an issue where someone who "Booked" me and didn't pay their deposit so the date was given away. I generally hold dates for 14 days after the enquiry unless otherwise agreed before they become free to book again, after that I just assume I'm not needed and I take it out of my diary.
I do this because in the past I've kept the dates "because they are nice people" and turned work down to then be told "oh they decided they didn't want a party in the end". As ul agree this isn't nice as we all have to feed our family.
So just a reminder, if your deposit isn't paid your party isn't booked with no exceptions.
