Here’s a little horse from a carousel bollard cover celebrating the local story of Orton & Spooner. I love it when we celebrate local stories through our craft 🎠 🎠 🎠

Did you know that Burton’s Bollards stared off in The Brewhouse Community Garden ? It was a small project that grew and grew, and this year is the second year of the official trail!

You can go and see the garden with its bollard cover all year round, the trail is a temporary pop up event that we have turned into an annual celebration of Burton’s crafty creativity.

Right then Hookers and Knit Wits, next week’s heatwave is clearly the perfect time to wrestle with bulky yarn and accidentally felt yourself to a camping chair.

Only joking. Mostly.

If you’re getting started on your Burton’s Bollards creations over half term, remember the sunscreen, stay hydrated and try not to crochet/knit yourself into the garden furniture. We need those hands for bollard greatness.

Lovely afternoon knitting and nattering, crochet and chattering at Helen's Bake House and Tearoom!

Helped the youngest member learn to knit with my favourite teaching technique…. Stab it, strangle it, scoop out its guts, throw it off the cliff. 🤣🤣🤣

Had a wonderful time at Helen's Bake House and Tearoom ‘s Knit and Knitter, Crochet and Chatter afternoon. Come along next week on Tuesday 2-4, £3.50 which includes hot drinks and homemade treats (hands off the millionaire’s shortbread, it’s MINE) and with the added bonus of money off yarn upstairs in the Crafty Attic!

Sitting in the sunshine crocheting a castle bollard for the giant purple dragon to curl around. Thanks to my eldest for that suggestion.

Brick stitch is also one of my favourite, it’s easy but super effective. Swapping out the brick red for grey works super well for stone walls.

I’d love to see some of your creations or themes, pop them in the comments! Brownie points for photos…
