His career began in Barcelona, Spain in the 2000's where he started producing and recording bands and singer-songwriters of all genres. With such experience in a multicultural city, Darryll began to follow some of his clients to their homelands to fulfill proj
ects which then led to working with other associated artists in many different parts of the world. Trips to New York in 2012 and 2015 became very important to Darryll's development as he started knocking on the doors of some of the top studios in the city which then led to him assisting and engineering for clients in studios in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. This was when the taste for studio life became a very high priority. On his return to Scotland, the birth of his first creative space gave him the foundations to build on his experiences. He set up a small recording studio in a flat in Cowdenbeath, Fife, which served as a production house for many local artists. Whilst doing this, he also enrolled in college so as to refine his knowledge of audio engineering and sound production. The journey continued on to recording and mixing for Sofar Sounds, working as in-house engineer at a top studio in Glasgow, and freelancing all over Britain, Europe and USA, where Darryll has continued to work with multiple artists, genres and formats including TV, Film, Game and Audio Books.
Darryll has a vision and goal of working with as many artists as he possibly can from very different genres, pushing and expanding his boundaries as a producer and engineer.
