Meet TEDxBromley speaker Isiorono Igho-Orienru.
How much do we really understand about the everyday reality of living with sickle cell?
For many of us, the answer is very little.
In his TEDxBromley talk, “Sickle Cell and The Evidence Nobody Asked For,” Isio gives us an insider's perspective on the realities faced by people living with the condition.
He challenges us to rethink how decisions about support are made – advocating for those with lived experience of sickle cell to have a meaningful role in shaping the policies that directly affect them.
Because when it comes to understanding what people really need, perhaps we should start by listening to those who live it every day.

Another fantastic rehearsal this weekend with the second half of the TEDx Bromley 2026 speakers.

Sam Bowden | The Retail Industry’s Coach Sam Bowden, Rachael Twumasi-Corson | Founder | Keynote Speaker | Writer Rachael Twumasi-Corson, Sophia Kalpaka (Hopkins), Joe Barnes joe barnes and Cath | Nervous system regulation | Racialised trauma | Allyship Cath Blayney, you’re all doing amazing! You had us enthralled with your draft talks and still have nearly a couple of months of preparation to go!

From creating five star parenting to preventing burnout, there’s something in the programme for everyone. Plus, we’re thrilled to be joined by local community groups Lets Talk Better C.I.C, Greener and Cleaner and the Beckenham Business Association in our community space on the day.

Now we have the difficult job of deciding the running order! As one of our speakers said, it’s like compiling the perfect rock album.
