Meet TEDxBromley speaker Isiorono Igho-Orienru.
How much do we really understand about the everyday reality of living with sickle cell?
For many of us, the answer is very little.
In his TEDxBromley talk, β€œSickle Cell and The Evidence Nobody Asked For,” Isio gives us an insider's perspective on the realities faced by people living with the condition.
He challenges us to rethink how decisions about support are made – advocating for those with lived experience of sickle cell to have a meaningful role in shaping the policies that directly affect them.
Because when it comes to understanding what people really need, perhaps we should start by listening to those who live it every day.

Meet TEDxBromley speaker Jane Knight.
What if becoming a mother isn't a career break – but one of the most powerful leadership development programmes there is?
As founder of the Successful Mums Career Academy, Jane knows what it takes to help mothers rediscover their confidence and career mojo.
In her TEDxBromley talk, β€œMotherhood: The Leadership Programme Employers Keep Missing,” Jane challenges the way employers view motherhood and asks us to recognise the valuable leadership skills women develop through raising a family.
Rather than making mothers less desirable to employers, could motherhood actually make them better equipped to lead?

Meet TEDxBromley speaker Joe Barnes.
What if being a rebel isn't about breaking the rules – but about recognising when the rules need to change?
In his thought-provoking TEDxBromley talk, β€œWhy The World Needs Its Rebels,” Joe explores the role rebels can play in challenging convention and creating change.
And for those of us who have always felt like a rebel at heart, he has a simple invitation: come forward and help make the change the world needs most.
Perhaps it's time to stop fitting in – and start questioning what needs to change.

Meet TEDxBromley speaker Sophia Kalpaka.
Can the words and behaviours we dismiss as β€œcasual” actually create the conditions for something far more harmful?
In her TEDxBromley talk, β€œYou Look Like a Sl*t! Why Casual Misogyny Is Not Harmless and How We Stop It,” Sophia explores how casual misogyny can help create an environment in which more harmful behaviour towards women can take place.
She invites both men and women to consider the way we think, speak and act – and the part each of us can play in creating a safer environment for women.
A challenging conversation. An important idea. And one that asks all of us to reflect.

Meet TEDxBromley speaker Rachael Twumasi-Corson.
What if the work-life balance we're all trying to achieve doesn't actually exist?
For Rachael, it took the damaging impact of burnout to stop and reconsider the way she was living her life.
In her TEDxBromley talk, β€œWork-Life Balance is a Myth. Try This Instead,” Rachael shares her β€˜work/life harmony method’ – a different approach to creating a fulfilling life without destroying ourselves in the process.
Could it be time to stop chasing balance and start looking for harmony instead?

Meet TEDxBromley speaker Sam Bowden.
What could great customer service possibly teach us about being better parents?
In his TEDxBromley talk, β€œWhy We Should Treat Our Kids Like Our Customers,” Sam invites us to rethink the way we approach parenting.
Drawing on techniques used by top retailers to create excellent customer experiences, Sam explores how some of the same principles could help us connect more deeply with our children.
An unexpected comparison – and an idea that might just change the way we think about parenting.

Meet TEDxBromley speaker Cath Blayney.
We often talk about creating safe spaces. But what actually makes a space feel safe?
In her TEDxBromley talk, β€œThe Dangers of Safe Spaces,” Cath challenges the assumption that simply calling something a safe space makes it one.
She reminds us that there can be no truly safe space without safe people – and asks us to consider the work we first need to do within ourselves before we can become a safe source of support for others.

Meet TEDxBromley speaker Henry Annafi.
What if the gaps we are trying to fix aren't actually where we think they are?
In his thought-provoking TEDxBromley talk, β€œMind The Gap – It’s Not Where You Think,” Henry challenges us to rethink the assumptions we make when designing policy and solving problems.
By looking differently at where the real gaps lie, could we find better solutions?
