Happy Monday! Though I feel like I need to catch up from the wknd - or perhaps the last 3 weeks of half term… i’m knackered! 😴

Working on a bespoke Orb Pendant for a customer, who has requested a personalised design to represent her children. Cannot wait to finish the design, and then it will be deciding whether to make it in wax or straight from sheet metal...

Really love working on bespoke pieces, and will be launching something exciting very very soon to celebrate this renewed love for making unique / one off jewellery for you 🤍

The Seba studs were inspired by the Ancient Egyptian star symbol, which they called “Seba“. The symbol represented the stars and was used to decorate many temples in tombs, and the Seba had a profound meaning in relation to the Egyptians’ beliefs in afterlife.

Literally, Seba means ‘learning’ or ‘discipline’ and I love the fact that figuratively it was seen as a door or gateway to the afterlife and the spiritual world.

Pisces Season is here 🌊

Inadvertently took a week long break off Instagram and cannot believe we’re at Pisces season already 😳

The last zodiac sign of the 12, Pisces ♓️ is the most socially advanced sign, in tune with anyone and everyone’s feelings and emotions. Likened to the vast ocean, it’s Pisces who is home to all creation, to all memories of past, current and future, to knowing and holding it all.

Imagine being part of this big sea of people all swaying in the same direction, to become one with the audience at a highly moving concert, to feel belonging so deeply.

That’s Pisces ….

Once upon a time…

…there was a boy, called Valentine. Little did he know that the date of his death (14 February 269 AD) would be celebrated almost 1800 years later (in a way he wouldn’t have foreseen🙈)

Valentine, or Saint Valentine, was a Roman priest who lived in the 3rd century. Believed to be a real historical person, he was seen as the patron saint of lovers (and that of beekeepers - we all love bees though so it makes sense 🐝)

In that very 3rd century, many people converted to Christianity. But then Emperor Claudius II, a pagan himself, was not too fond of Christians and created very strict laws onto them.

One of those laws prohibited any Christian Roman soldier to marry, all so they’d be more devoted to Rome.

I think you can guess what happened… St Valentine started marrying these soldiers in secret Christian ceremonies. He believed in love over religion, and that it was much more important than serving Rome 🙏

He obviously got found out and was imprisoned and executed by the Emperor. Legend has it, he sent a letter as a final farewell to his loved one from prison, signed “your Valentine”… 💌

We can choose to question this, or believe it… but it sure makes for a wonderful story ♥️

Been wanting to create more limited edition (unique / ooak / however you want to call it) for a very long time now. I kept on putting it off, as I was scared that it wouldn’t work, it wouldn’t sell. My ongoing collections were doing well, so I kept on playing it safe by making the same on and on and on.

But truth is, I wasn’t learning and also was getting bored. The artist inside of me is feeling more audacious this year, and so I’m very excited to make an effort and go more into OOAK collections (fingers crossed 🤞 for me you’ll be pleased too 😅)..
