Bectu are hosting a new course for those going through redundancy/entering the freelance world.

‘Beyond Redundancy – setting up as a sole trader’ is run by David Thomas Media who ran a similar course via the old BBC Careerlink service which ended in April.

The next date is 18 July in the BECTU office, Clapham, London.

The cost for BECTU members at risk of redundancy is £25 and for employers paying for staff and non members the cost is £125.

The Bectu Freelancers' Fair 2017 is happening THIS FRIDAY May 19th in London and is FREE for Bectu members to attend.

Two of the workshops included are led by David Thomas (media trainer) about essentials for freelancing and for networking, similar to the courses he used to provide under BBC CareerLink - "Setting Up As A Soletrader" and "Making Contacts and Connections" - both highly recommended.
