When I was trying to become a vicar, with the help of George, the vicar of my local church, St Michael’s on the Walsgrave Road in Coventry, he asked me to write an essay on the topic of ‘TRUST’. I likened it to Faith, saying that ‘Faith is the trust in God’s promises. On the golf course, he asked me what these promises were. I was puzzled, thinking he surely must know.
I’ve very much updated my opinion on ‘trust’ since then. I think that it is a very devious word, based on the unnescessary concept of TRUST. Without such a concept, we would be highly unlikely to either trust or distrust anyone or anything, because the words needed to do so would not then exist. I don’t think it would occur to us to do either. We would just say that certain things, such as the weather forecast, are UNRELIABLE., not that we # # # # # # # # it, not that this makes much sense, anyway.
TRUST IS A TOXIC CONCEPT, made up and made popular by rather dispicable people who just want to cast doubt on things, manipulate others and make lots of money that they then just waste on non-essentials.
With ‘trust’ comes ‘distrust’, and it then occurs to some people and is then pointed out by them, that some sources may be ‘untrustworthy’ and can then be smeared as being such with the right, effective kind of argument that is quite difficult to easily DISPROVE - a favourite word of such gaslighters. In fact, we ought not to ‘trust’ anything or anyone without a great deal of reliable evidence. In general, we ought to not ‘trust’ anything or anyone, unless we are pretty damn sure. In fact, if anyone uses the word ‘trust’ to you, it ought to cast some doubt upon them, and produce a suspicion of their purposes and their reasons and intentions
Another similarly toxic concept is that of ‘BELIEF’. This is certainly not a conviction based on little evidence, but gaslighters would have you think so, and then make out that Religion is just a ‘belief - system’ ie is not backed up by much real evidence. This is a TRICK. GASLIGHTERS AND MANIPULATERS ARE FULL OF SUCH VERBAL TRICKERY. They often back this up with anger, violence or the threat of violence, and the misuse of the Law. This goes way back to the time of King John, at least.
Belief is neither here nor there. You can’t do much with a belief, other than be either RIGHT or WRONG, but so what. The relevant problems are really just UNCERTAIN anyway, and the rightness or wrongness of an opinion just depends upon the opinions of others, usually those who have been given some AUTHORITY, by a kind of ‘club-agreement’, but so what, does that really PROVE anything.
In truth, true Christianity is a spiritual faith, and has nothing to do with trust or belief, or in majority authoritive opinion. It is based upon personal conviction, borne of evidence, observation and the courage of one’s convictions - something that emotional manipulators know almost nothing about, or at least very little. Their ideas are all based on fear and doubt, and money making, for little real work.

Why do landlords bar some of their customers, particularly the very popular ones. Is it for pointing out or even just hinting at their own shortcomings? It is a great pity and completely lawless. They should publish a list of ‘unacceptable behaviours’, like ‘making people laugh too much’ and then should have video evidence of someone actually breaking that very stupid, silly rule, which they weren’t even aware of.
Should landlords have this kind of power, to effectively be able to choose their own clientele. They may need it to keep out the violent and the very troublesome elements, but to keep out the homeless? The very popular? People who offend their own particular sensitivities? Surely, this is just an abuse of power and I reckon that it should be stopped. But the bottom dollar is the profit margin. A landlord must try to maximise this, but should they do it at the expense of civil liberties and social justice.
I reckon that this is an aspect of the law that parliament should take a serious look at, because it affects so many people and is a major injustice.

Kant’s categorical imperative really is compulsory. It reduces to the Golden Rule, expressed simply as ‘do as you would be done by’, it’s also the second comandment, as given by Jesus., in the Sermon on the Mount.
