Bristol Skum Collective Bristol DIY Punk Collective. Putting on DIY alternative gigs, supporting good causes! We're young and we're old! We do it for the love of it! UP THE PUNX!!!

We're a loose collective, made up of people who love taking an active roll in the diy 'punk' scene. Some of us have been around for a very long time, but still feel the same buzz as we did when we first started out getting involved in this beautiful scene of ours! We do it to be involved with community! We do it for the love of the music, that is real and comes from the heart! And we do it cos we

wanna play a small part in making a difference where we can! And when we can, our gigs and events and will be benefits, where we'll raise as much as we can for worthwhile and just causes. We've raised money recently for the likes of Gig Buddies (a charity that helps supports young people with autism attend gigs and concerts), For the Bristolian local news sheet, For Kebelle (local community support centre and anarchist centre) new roof and For Kill The Bill prisoners support. Be cause of other commitments, we only put on gigs every now and then, but when we do, we want them to have a big impact and to help as many bands, diy venues and causes as possible.

It was a long day yesterday, and christ was it hot in the basement! Don’t know how the bands coped whilst they were playing and cooking? But we had a great time and against all the odds, what with the other gig clashes (something that does grate on our minds and is an issue for another time), and with the heat, we raised
£742 for the lovely family we support in Gaza!
So a massive thank you to everyone who came down and donated to the cause 🙏 We know it was tough going so thank you so much 🙏
A huge thank you to Stephen Spencer-Fleet for all his hard work and dedication in helping out with the gig!
A massive thank you to all the bands for giving their time so generously and sweating it out on the stage. No mean feat at all! 🙏
A big thank you to DJ Dub Punk for spinning the tunes in the sauna 🙏
A big thank you to Cafe Kino and all the staff for being so supportive 🙏
And a big thank you to everyone who helped by sharing the gig on their socials etc you’re wonderful people 🙏
That was only our second gig of the year and maybe our last for some time. We will do another benefit for the family no doubt, as keeping them alive is so important and heartfelt for us!

We’re chuffed and honoured to be hosting Contempt in just over a weeks time. They’ve been around for a very long time, since 1984 no less! Anarcho punk veterans from the West Midlands, with a string of releases, who used to play along the likes of Conflict and are activists as well as musicians. They very rarely come to Bristol, so don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to catch them live.
The gig at Cafe Kino on Saturday 27 June is a benefit for a lovely family in Gaza City, who are going through hell with no end in sight. Only today we heard another one of the children we are raising money for, has fallen very ill due to malnutrition. So we are so grateful to Contempt for supporting this event and showing solidarity. It’s an all dayer, with so many amazing bands, dj, an anarcho punk archive from 1979 to 1985 and more. It’s only a tenner for advance ticket.
