Move Dance Feel Helping women affected by cancer to reconnect with themselves, through dance. Move Dance Feel is a community project for women affected by cancer.

Whatever your walk of life, we offer a creative, supportive and restorative experience. We understand that when you have cancer, or you’re supporting somebody you love with cancer, it’s a challenging time. It’s the non-stop hospital visits, the impact on confidence and self-esteem, and perhaps the loneliness of knowing that others just can’t quite understand how you’re feeling. Move Dance Feel uni

A cancer diagnosis affects more than the body.

Anxiety, pain, fatigue, fear and loneliness are common challenges that last long after treatment ends.

Traditional cancer care is unable to meet such challenges, which is why Move Dance Feel exists.

Our evidence-informed programmes offer creative, movement-based support that helps women reconnect with themselves and with others - improving mood, reducing stress and anxiety, supporting body confidence, and strengthening social connection.

Move Dance Feel research findings also highlight wider benefits of dance in this context, including improved wellbeing, better self-management of health, increased energy and quality of life.

Led by specialist dance artists with expertise in cancer care and community practice, our sessions are built on safety, artistry, trust and compassion. We also work to reduce barriers to access, offering free and pay-what-you-can opportunities wherever possible.

This is holistic support that moves with women - not just through cancer, but beyond it.

“I was truly amazed by the effect of Move Dance Feel on my patients. The benefits in terms of improved confidence and wellbeing were remarkable and supported by clinical data. The programme is a huge success.”

Move Dance Feel creates a welcoming space where women affected by cancer come together to dance.

Led by specialist dance artists, our sessions are centred around connection and open to all. No prior dance experience is needed.

Women move at their own pace, sometimes seated, sometimes standing, guided by inspiring music and accessible contemporary dance explorations.

There is space for joy, release, rest and reflection, and for transformation to unfold in its own way.

What we share in the sessions ripples outwards, nurturing confidence, creativity and connection in everyday life.

It’s movement, but it’s also something more - a quiet return to yourself, and a growing sense of belonging within a shared community.

“It was particularly healing to have full permission to move in a way that listens to my body.”

“I loved the way the session was so inclusive and made us feel so nurtured. It takes you out of your mind and into your body. For many, this could be the only time they are not thinking of their cancer and can just be themselves again.”

Move Dance Feel is a unique, female-led community - uniting women affected by cancer through dance.
We create space for connection, creativity, movement and expression, where no one has to navigate things alone. Our work is rooted in compassion, integrity and deep listening, led by professional dance artists specialising in dance and health.

Through creative exploration, we support women to feel more at home in their bodies, build confidence, and experience moments of joy.

At heart, we are a community that nurtures and connects people, reimagining what care can feel like together.

However you join us, online or in person, you’ll be met with the same warmth, creativity and presence.

“A deep sense of connection. To myself, as well as the others, something which has stayed with me since leaving the space. A real sense of power and joy. In and for life.”

“Dancing helps me to feel more alive and cope with the sad thoughts that can arise due to a cancer diagnosis. A shared dance experience has made me feel not alone, cared for and nurtured. I am taking away a lifted inner self, more resilience, a sense of friendship and strength to keep going on my life path.”

“I could move my body, participate completely in the creative process, but I was able to do it all from a chair.”

A glimpse into our 10th anniversary event last weekend - a truly memorable milestone shared with our community at large. We are still smiling!

We shared new research insights:

100% of participants strongly agreed that fills a vital gap in cancer care

92% of participants showed an increase in body appreciation across 6 months

Emily Jenkins looked back across a decade of this work:
