Your clearing call checklist 📝

Getting ready to call us about clearing but want to be as prepared as possible for your call?

Here are the key things to help your clearing call run as smooth as possible:

- Have your UCAS ID number on hand if you have one.
- Your exam results if you’ve received them
- And which course you’re interested in

Remember! Some of our courses require Portfolios or auditions so we might not be able to offer you a place directly during you call, BUT, a member of team will guide you through what to expect support in making the process as easy and quick as possible.

Bideford Retold is a new 12 month community heritage project exploring Bideford’s fascinating Chope Collection. A historic collection of around 500 books containing local stories, legends, people and history and finding new ways to bring those stories to life for a new generation.

At dBs Pro, our role is to bring our expertise in creative technology and storytelling to the project. We’ll be working alongside young people from Bideford to transform stories from the collection into podcasts, music, games, artwork and digital experiences. And it all starts THIS FRIDAY! 👀

On 14–15 August, young people aged 14–21 can join us at Bideford Library to explore the Chope Collection, meet the creative team and help decide which stories should inspire the project. Then on Saturday afternoon, we’ll head aboard the SS Freshspring Trust for History Through Sound, using recording technology and creative practice to capture the atmosphere of this historic ship and create original soundscapes and artwork. 🚢

Over the next year, young people will have opportunities to take part in creative workshops, podcasting, music, game design, animation, storytelling, digital experiences and more, helping shape the project and ultimately creating a new interactive experience for Bideford Library.

Want to get involved? Follow Libraries Unlimited to stay up to date with upcoming events, workshops and opportunities throughout the year. And for this weekends event, although free, you’ll need to snap up your ticket as only 7 spaces are remaining.

Big stages. Huge festivals. 🔥

Luke, who studies Music Production & Sound Engineering in Manchester, has been making the most of festival season with his band, God Complex.

This summer, they’ve already taken to the stages at 2000trees Festival Festival and Resurrection Fest EG, sharing line-ups with the likes of Funeral for a Friend, Neck Deep, Iron Maiden and Limp Bizkit.

And they’re not slowing down anytime soon. Next up, God Complex have shows in Manchester and London at the end of August, followed by a sold out Leeds date this September.

We love seeing our students out there on the real stages, and can’t wait to see what’s next for God Complex!
