What a fantastic day drawing bearded dragons at "Getting Started in Colour Pencil"!!

This time was a little different. We approached it more flexibly and organically to create more sketchy, dreamy looks.

After trying out pressure and marks on this very different surface of drafting film....we then put them into practice by drawing the eye area all together....

The attendees tackled the rest by choosing what different colours they could see and which details to mark in to create their unique interpretations...

I think you'll agree the results speak for themselves! 😍

A bit of a different post to my usual....

The Peace part of Peace, Pencils and Portraits isn't as loud (.... obviously?!) ....

But it is always there

A few things have been aligning lately with reinvigorated meditation practice, networking conversations about identity and trusting intuition, and this challenge with !

There are themes lurking in my journal that seem to want to be explored as they keep returning...

So this zine is the start of a process.... sharing some of my representative artwork, my acrostic poem on my mandala, depiction of my meditations, and quotes I often return again and again.

It seems to be "Leicester Day" here on Peace Pencils and Portraits so here's another post for you...😂

Leicester is just the sweetest pup (I know I might be biased but he really is! And he has almost human eyes !) ....

But we still sometimes need a hand and a refresh of (our, not Leicesters!) training!

We had just the bestest start with our friend Suzy, who taught us all the basics when we brought him home, and saved us when we were literally in panic modes, along with the most excellent puppy classes !

But we'd let things slip and it appeared Leicester thought he was the one in charge of us, so we needed to re-focus (literally!)

The lovely Wendy at Jump4Joy Dog Trainer & Behaviourist practised the "calm and focus" technique with us...

And reminded us all the chatter that was distracting him from a clear instructions from us! Whilst he very much seems human , he is definitely dog!

And there is a definite shift in Leicesters focus to our walks and commands, and he's so bright and keen to please! We are now continuing to practice it as a foundation that is useful in many different circumstances with him.

Thanks so much Wendy 😀 We'll no doubt need re-retraining again at some point....I'm sure Leicester will let us know 😂🐾

He looooves her so much we have to say p.a.m. else he thinks she's imminently arriving and will explode ! 😆

My special little sidekick...here at Poppy’s Playmates this past weekend! He knows when we say we're going to Poppy's and starts running around all excited 😆

We're so grateful to Louise for letting Leicester settle at his own pace and creating such a special place for him to stay 😍🐾❤️
