A beautifully bewitching night awaits Brighton with the beguiling world of Sairie.
Celebrate their new album at the launch in Brighton’s jewel of a church (Aubrey Beardsley’s place of worship, no less).

Sairie - Deceptively stripped-back, other-worldly and beautiful amidst ghosts, fairies and tragic love. The Brighton three-piece of Emma Morton, Jon Griffin and Andy Thomas cast magic spells upon the listener. Their music is like a séance; an enchanted visit to the inside of a hollow hill.

Brighton-based singer-songwriter and multi- instrumentalist Eliza Skelton's songs are a genre-bending blend of atmospheric, gothic-tinged folk rock, electronica, and lush, pastoral vocal harmonies, complemented by visionary narrative lyrics.

Departure Lounge + special guests play The Rose Hill on Saturday 12th December

Departure Lounge return to Brighton, one of their spiritual homes (the other is Nashville) for a special headline show at The Rose Hill on Saturday 12th December. They'll be showing off tracks from their forthcoming album, Field Conditions and upgraded versions of old favourites, as well as songs from 2021's Transmeridian, including the single, Australia, which featured R.E.M.'s Peter Buck on guitar.

The four-piece recording line-up of Chris Anderson (aka Crayola Lectern), Simon Edwards, Lindsay Jamieson and Tim Keegan will be augmented by Tim's son Quincy.

"These four friends from different musical backgrounds came together originally with the stated aim of ‘creating music to soothe the troubled soul’. Citing influences including Robert Wyatt, Nick Drake, Talk Talk, Lou Reed, Arvo Pärt and Cocteau Twins, the band’s diverse tastes are reflected in the music they create.

Uplifting, heartfelt, and dashingly melodic songs.

Stornoway + special guests play Chalk Venue Brighton on Sunday 25th October.

Defined by Brian’s ageless, clear tenor, Stornoway's songs are uplifting, heartfelt, and dashingly melodic; but the songs are just the start. This is a band that runs on curiosity. Producing their own records, they take a bespoke approach to each track. With a wonderfully diverse range of instrumentation and an unmistakable joy in the creative process, every one of their songs is given a very beautiful and carefully considered place to live - musically and geographically, with recording locations including campervans, wind-buffeted barns, chapels and community centres.

Stornoway lit up 2010 with their thrilling debut Beachcomber’s Windowsill, the culmination of a five-year journey with its starting point in a Freshers week meeting at Oxford University between Brian Briggs and the band's arranger and multi-instrumentalist Jon Ouin. After connecting with South African-born brothers Rob (drums) and Oli Steadman (bass), the band honed its sound and aims, self-releasing a series of EPs before finally signing to 4AD for the release of Beachcomber’s Windowsill.

Now, Stornoway unveils their most ambitious album yet, Beyonder, out 25th September on Cooking Vinyl Widely recognised as a band at the intersection of music and conservation, the group continues that mission with an album of wild hope, born from isolation and exploration. Beyonder channels the powers of the natural world to reconnect us, using music to bring people closer to nature.

Beyonder is an album for a changing world. It confronts the biodiversity and climate crises, the rise of divisive politics, and the toll these pressures take on our minds and communities. Electronica and fuzzed up dream-pop.

Pete Fij + special guests play The Green Door Store on Thursday 22nd October.

Renowned for his unmistakable voice and wry lyrical touch, Pete Fij(alkowski) makes a welcome return with fresh solo material - unveiling songs that brim with melody, wit and understated charm.

Pete first burst onto the scene in the early 90s as the frontman and guitarist of post-shoegaze / pre-Britpop band Adorable, whose 1993 album Against Perfection, released on Creation Records, is regularly referred to as a lost indie classic, with the band picking up multiple 'Single of the Week' awards in the NME, and topping the Indie charts.

He re-emerged alongside celebrated House of Love guitarist Terry Bickers to release two critically acclaimed albums as Pete Fij / Terry Bickers, winning the Roundtable 'Single of The Week' on Steve Lamacq's BBC 6Music show.

Slinging back on the electric guitar, ditching the job, upping the BPMs, and falling in love again has resulted in Pete embracing his fuzzed-up dream-pop past but also throwing in elements of pop and electronica.

Now signed to Tip Top Recordings, the title of his forthcoming LP is appropriately enough 'Up's The New Down' (released 10th July 2026). The first single from the album, the euphoric ‘Love’s Coming Back’ came out in November 2025, followed by the dark, more cinematic track “Cuckoo” in February 2026.

Pete’s lush and rich baritone voice has been compared to Lee Hazlewood, Lou Reed and Richard Hawley in the past – and fans will be pleased to hear that, if anything, he's sounding stronger, more urgent and characterful than ever.

Synths and electronic percussion weaved into organic sounds…

Lemoncello + special guests play The Folklore Rooms Brighton on Friday 16th October.

It’s hard not to feel seen by Lemoncello, a band whose live performances and recordings shimmer with the tones of modern Ireland. Their upcoming release, Perfect Place, evolves from the band’s folk-soaked roots and confidently explores intricate new shapes. Marking a bold new chapter for singer-songwriter Laura Quirke & cellist-arranger Claire Kinsella, “Perfect Place” is imbued with assuredness, featuring full-band recordings that weave synths and electronic percussion into the band’s staple organic sound.

Through an intimate and devastatingly personal style of storytelling, the new album reflects upon the modern tension between togetherness and alienation and the chaos of human nature with radical acceptance and compassion. L*D and the Search for God special guests play Komedia Brighton on Sunday 11th October.

L*D and the Search for God hit the Northern California coast in 2005, seemingly from another place and time, dosing San Francisco with hypnotic shows built on swirling guitars, otherworldly drones, fuzzed-out pop melodies, and dreamy vocal harmonies.

Early shows and recordings drew comparisons to My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Yo La Tengo, Spacemen 3, and Sonic Youth, helping the band quickly earn a reputation as a must-see act within the Northern California underground shoegaze and psych scene.

Their self-titled debut EP (Mind Expansion Records, 2007; Don Giovanni, 2025) sold out before its official release date, earned critical acclaim, and continues to appear on lists of essential shoegaze releases.

Jetstream Pony + Firestations play A L P H A B E T Brighton
on Friday 27th November.

𝗝𝗲𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗣𝗼𝗻𝘆 are a mix of post-punk and power pop, featuring Beth Arzy (The Luxembourg Signal/Trembling Blue Stars) on vocals and percussion, Shaun Charman (original drummer of The Wedding Present/The Popguns) on guitar and vocals, Kerry Boettcher on bass and vocals, Mark Matthews (The Dentists) on guitar, and Tom Levesley on drums.

The band has released five 7-inch singles, two EPs, and two LPs, including last year’s acclaimed ‘Bowerbirds and Blue Things’, praised for its variety and development, which features a track with lead vocals by Eleni Poulou (The Fall). The most recent release is a 10″ vinyl version of their very well-received live session for the Riley & Coe show on BBC6 Music.

All releases have received enthusiastic reviews and radio play worldwide. The band have played across Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Norway and the UK. This will be the band’s first gig back in Brighton for 18 months!

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 is an art-pop band from London. New album ‘International Dust’ is out on Lost Map Records in October.
