Letgo Drawing originated at the Black Dove and has been running every Wednesday since February 2014. The only time it won't be running is a public holiday - a message will be here with Timetable and the page/instagram

Develop new techniques or relax in the moment and the mark making. Forget about everything else for a couple of hours because you deserve it. A typical evening will start with 3 x 5 min poses, followed by 2 x 20 min poses - a break - then 30 min or 2 x 15 and some short 1-5 min poses! Have your own life drawing party at your home, or private and personalised Life Drawing Class for your Birthday/surprise event or an anniversary in the quirky basement of the Black Dove/Twin Pines contact Emily 07905113378

My Name is Sheena….

It was a Monday morning when Sheena first recoiled in shock at the sight of hair growing on her face. It wasn’t in the usual place that women of a certain age expect to get it. Things started unravelling quickly after that, by the weekend, her voice had changed, and on the following Monday, she was convinced that her canines were becoming more pronounced. She’d gone from vegan to carnivore and…and worst of all, the cat had disappeared….

It was a pleasure to hear share their poetry and poses a homage to the collaborative project “Prose and pose” that we ran through festivals for a few years!

We drew and took in the imagery of this story telling wordsmith before settling down for a long pose and Gracie recited from their new book “Soap on a Rope” telling a funny and heartwarming story of a folk musician. It’s not a ukelele.

Punk performance poet Bassie Gracie is promoting her new novel, SOAP ON A ROPE along side drawing in a collaboration with alt fringe and

Gracie Bassie is also known for a poetry and story collection called The Fishing Museum Book, available on Bandcamp and can be found on the festival and music scene sharing poetry, story telling and bass in bands such as beans on toast. Come join for an immursive story telling evening of drawing and relaxing on May 27th 7:30pm - 9:30pm

A chilled night with live music and life drawing with Nik usually accompanied with chellos and synths we were honoured be a solo performance of some new material on keys.

The first half we had 4 poses with songs from Niks hero Joni Mitchell “Paprika Planes” to Radiohead. The second half we drew Niks live performance of some new material - check out on Bandcamp, support local music and go check them out this July at Brighton Unitarian church at their next gig with

Nick Williams is the lead singer and multi-instrumentalist of Brighton-based band . The group is known for blending electronic beats with orchestral arrangements and lyric-driven songwriting.

Night House creates ethereal soundscapes and has been a staple in the Brighton music scene for over a decade.
