🛡️ THE MIDDLE GROUND
Is it just me, or are we all just walking around breaking each other?
It’s the cycle: someone treats you like trash, you build a wall, and then you use that wall to hit the next person who tries to get close. We’ve become experts at "social atrophy."
I’ve been thinking a lot about the Sihastru, that’s what we call a hermit. It’s that urge to just pull the plug, disappear, and stop dealing with people entirely. Sometimes it feels like the only way to stay safe is to be alone.
But that’s a trap, too. You don’t "win" by staying behind a screen or rotting in your room. There has to be a middle ground. A place where you can be social without being "available." Where you can be in a crowd without having to explain your past, your job, or why you're living in a country far from home.
That’s the whole point of One Night Stand Events.
It’s an ironic name because it’s a cheeky answer to a sad reality: we don’t trust each other anymore. So fine. Let's start there. No strings. No pressure. No "forced friendships." You don’t have to "connect" in the way the world demands. You don’t have to be vulnerable. You just have to be there.
Fool around like a kid, even if life is s**t to you! Leave the past behind, be kind, and stop being so serious. Get up, and fail again! Rewrite the depressing past with new nice memories. Try to see the good in people. We only see the bad things; no wonder we have so much hate in the world.
Humor, music, no judgment, kindness, and respect are what I have in mind, the things that help us break the social atrophy and that harmful cycle of work-home-some holiday. Just come, listen to some music that isn't the same 80s loop we've heard for thirty years, and dance. We are trying to overcome some of the past, not live it all over again. It's all about music. Language doesn't matter; the rhythm does!
Meet. Groove. Dance. Repeat.
If you think this name is preposterous, you are probably right, but we need to wake up and have a good escape/excuse and survive at least this crisis of humanity. 🙂 This is just about a night where the energy is right and nothing else matters. We can do this only together; there's no "me," it's "us." I just created a brand, ONSE™, that is supposed to ease our struggle a bit.
PS: This is a motivational list for myself, but I decided to share it with you 🙂. This photo is me in my "other" world, where the noise is constant but the connection is hard to find. Also, social media is full of noise; it's up to you to filter the good from the bad.
