THIS WEEKEND - beat the heat and transport yourself to Ancient Greece for a mythological retelling of the Trojan War, but this time it's Helen's version!

Witness her divine beginnings (yes, she did hatch from an egg), her youth as a Spartan warrior, her fateful decision to leave her husband, and finally the decade of brutal war and destruction that follows.

That Witch Helen blends myth, movement, and storytelling to give Helen of Troy, one of history’s most hated women, a chance to tell her own story. After performances at Brighton and Lambeth Fringes, this "MUST SEE SHOW" (FringeReview) arrives in Wandsworth.

A solo show written and performed by Catie Ridewood.

Content Warnings: Contains strong language, references to sexual assault, descriptions of war and violence

✨ Gathering materials for the workshops this Saturday and Tuesday…

Are you ready to unravel some stories? Join us for a PWYC workshop at Tooting Library, where we’ll use games, prompts, and exercises to develop storytelling skills to share and preserve women’s stories!

Choose to work with either a story from your own family/community, or be inspired by Wandsworth women throughout history (some are pictured on these prompt cards I’ve made for the workshops!).

They’re 90 minute sessions, Pay What You Can, so come tell some stories with us at one of our wonderful Wandsworth libraries.

Inspired by my own journey as a writer unraveling Helen’s story from multiple sources where she appears as a side character - I’ll share my own creative practice during the sessions.

Saturday 14 June: 11.30am & 2pm
Tuesday 17 June: 11.30am & 3.30pm

✨ Back in the rehearsal room!

We’ve been back for in-person rehearsals this week, adapting and developing the show for our run at SEFest. It’s been so great to be back in the room, collaborating and getting creative, revisiting moments and playing with fabric!

We’re all very excited to share the show with new audiences - we’ll be performing at The Bridge House Theatre and The Jack Studio Theatre from Tuesday!

💻 Virtual rehearsals are a-go for That Witch Helen! We're so excited to be reuniting for 3 more performances of this epic feminist retelling of the Helen myth.

Our team is busy working around the UK over the summer so it's been a real production lifesaver to be able to use new technology to run lines, plan touring adaptations, and stay connected.

We're back in the rehearsal room next week and will be bringing you more rehearsal updates.

Come see us in action next month, from 3-5 September as part of SEFest in London - more details below!
